RE: Another RNS tomorrow .....12 Jan 2023 09:59
Adrian,
'As a share holder I thought you be pleased to see the SP rise!'
Yes, but to rerate and hold it really needs to be on results not claims / plans that have so far never been achieved in 7 years.
Making money on the back of false hope is the only way anyone has made money here.
The latest wheeze in Turkey looks to be a desperate attempt to get an oil show there - get the SP up, do a placing, then reveal the water saturation is too high, with production levels of oil small, but being Turkey put into production (water disposal - who cares) - and they're going to drill Basur-4, hence the need for a placing.
Perhaps you do believe otherwise - though I doubt it, many have been fooled by UKOG's seemingly positive, but actually equivocal RNS, but I suspect if it does happen like that you'll be mocking anyone that fell for the BS ramping and didn't sell on a rise.
As for DL he rubbished the BGS report about the Kimmeridge - despite the report which was about the shales mentioning, but not assessing, the potential of the KLs.
Nutech were brought in with their US based algorithms which came up with the answer required - but everybody missed the caveats - the recoveries were dependant of fracking - or alternative reports - the Kimmeridge shale apart from being already fractured was likely not 'brittle' enough. Most of the billions of bbls were in the shales, not the KLs.
SS was left holding the already poisoned chalice. Perhaps without the burden of the Kimmeridge UKOG could have been a profitable onshore UK oil production company but chasing the expectation of riches has meant a series of high risk ventures by SS who seems to want to run a big oil operation in a company that needs to be run on a shoestring to be profitable.
Let's see where the SP goes - but looking at the trades it appears more of an attempt at a mini P&D than a rerate.
