If we’ve vaccinated 14m and still can’t open up pubs etc by April then what’s the point of the vaccinations? By April 30m+ will have had the jab so the downward pressure on covid is only increasing from here. Roll on normality.
Our restrictions on foreign travel and those coming to the UK have been the weakest part of our response- only now are the government thinking this is a good idea and overreacting saying the maximum penalty is 10yrs for non-compliance. Unbelievable.
Revolution bars seem to be city centre affairs as I recall, Marstons are much better distributed post-Covid. Israel is already seeing very positive effects from vaccination and we’re not far behind.
Platinum’s lowball bids might have been mistimed, either they come up with a much better bid or the market will rise taking away the big margin they want.
The chance of takeovers are on the rise :-) so are we at the point where SPs are low before the rise back to normality- buyers have to make their move soon, some light on the horizon at least.
If the government give any hint that lockdown is coming to an end compliance will drop straightaway, increasing the chance s of it being extended.
Don’t think voting for anyone else would have changed the outcome for the better given the choice available.
Exactly my thoughts too. JDW suffered its first loss in 36 years in 2020. Hardly surprising but shows how strong the business model is and how it has been flexible to adaptation over the years as well. MAB, MARS very similar. It’s the small independents and sole licensees that will be picked off sadly.
Imho the market sees the production of multiple vacancies as offering certainty of a way out of this economic mess. In March there was not such certainty hence the much lower lows for all hospitality shares. There may be dips ahead but nothing like those in March.
I got in months ago around 120 when everything was uncertain. Now there are multiple vaccines that uncertainty has gone and it’s a waiting game. If you are on the sidelines you can wait for a small dip imho but I’m holding so happy to let it run - hoping 2021 is not as bad as 2020!
Happy New Year to all and on to better times :-)
