Massive FOMO though... You just know as soon as you sell some RR and invest elsewhere Royce's are going to shoot up... :-) So far my diversified stocks are performing but I already regret selling....

An hour and a half....wish me luck...I'm going in.

Until very recently I had everything invested in RR. EVERY LAST PENNY. It has served me well and I have done very well... however there's always that nagging doubt - What if Covid part 2 is announced, What if Putin does something REALLY stupid, What if RR announces a major fault on an engine which grounds the fleet....

On the back of these nagging doubts I sold off a sliver of RR and invested in some other shares - Can't say I sold off much - probably less than 5% of my total - but I "thought" it would somehow make me feel better.... It doesn't - I just worry about more shares :-)

The shares I've invested in are good runners with good prospects and I have total faith in them.... but it's just not the same.

So.... to cut to the chase - and I hope this isn't too personal a question - What percentage of your "pot" is in RR - I'm not interested in how big your pot is or how much your pot is worth - I just thought it would be interesting to see how many on the board are ignoring the principal rule of investing and putting all their money on black.... As I've said, it's worked out great for me - I gradually transitioned to RR over a period of 6 months as I saw my RR shares doing very well and my other shares just doing OK... I thought you only live once... what's the worst that can happen.....sold off all my other shares and went 100% RR about a year ago. Having recently "diversified" I'm already thinking about selling my new shares and re-investing in RR... I actually miss just following one share :-)

I must confess I know very little about Vistry - I saw a recommendation for them some time back from someone I follow and respect and have kept an eye on tthem over the last few months to see what they're up to and see if they are indeed "all that"... I've now taken the plunge and taken a small position in them (having watched them steadily rise over the last few months) - I notice the chat board is somewhat barren - Is anyone out there with some knowledge willing to throw in their 2p worth on Vistry? I notice final results are a couple of weeks away - Are the results expected to be decent? TIA.

I think this year it has the potential to push close to £6 (SMR / BBB rating / Dividends / higher ratings / etc, etc)

I spent a few minutes on the IAG board yesterday to try and work out what the sentiment was and whether it might be worth a punt on IAG for a quick lift on results day.... It's a miserable and sobering experience immersing yourself in the IAG board. I do not recommend it.

You may aswell be speaking chinese Svend - I get the 200 SMA - but the rest is a bit beyond my scope - I know from your previous posts you know what you are doing - and fully respect your work - however respecting and understanding are 2 different things :-)

Fair enough Westy... I have a feeling Svend has been looking at reverse and oblique high sided reversals which have obviated the downside by maintaining traction on the upside.... :-)

Hard to see how Royces can't continue to climb - especially with the odd trickle of good news (BBB rating, more orders etc etc etc)

Westy / Svend - Is this based on your technical analysis? cup and saucer / reverse squiggle / high siding lopsided gromit readings?

I imagine there were a lot of people cashing in after the price rise - some may have held off until the next day waiting for another bump and when it didn't materialise sold. Long term there's still plenty of good news which should positively affect the SP. The odd "unexpected" hiccup should be expected. Tufan has proved with the results he can back up his cliams regarding increased margin, lower debt, bigger profit etc, etc. The only real danger Royces faces is something outside its control - Worldwide recession, Massive war, Covid part 2 OR a home grown disaster such as a massive engine fault. Royces is in a slightly unique position - insofar as its market is very much a captive one - the duopoly Royce's and GE have within the market is reasonably unusual in business terms. The barriers to entry are massive which would suggest the duoploy won't be ending anytime soon..... Onwards and upwards :-)

I am similarly joined at the hip withh Royces. My spreadsheets show I have done very well however until you actually sell its not a "real" return.... My issue is FOMO as I really believe Royces have so much more to offer. Barring the usual factors outside of our control (covid 2, major war, massive engine fault, huge recession etc, etc) there just doesn't seem anything that can stop this juggernaut. The sensible me would sell a chunk and divest into other shares however I, like many on here, see this as a once in a lifetime rollercoaster ride which I refuse to get off.... :-)

I wasn't suggesting timescales for any of my points - yes, debt should be paid off as a priority, no, dividens probably won't happen in the short term (however it is stated goal (from the CMD)) - however, debt reduction, smr's, bbb rating and dividends should all have movement within the next year which should affect the SP. Re-entry into the narrow body market is a stated goal - however the timing is a little fuzzy - it will depend on a variety of factors - some of which are outside of RR's control. And yes, I know the SMR "money" is very long term however if RR are awarded a sizeable chunk (if not all) of the Govts SMR contract this will undoubtedly affect the SP. What I'm trying to say that despite the results being positive and lifting the SP it's quite staggering what is still to come in the reasonably short term which should positively affect the SP and thrust it towards a notional £7 (and Q possibly beyond).... To me, the real surprise about the results was the lack of "surprise" - just good old boring solid figures which are moving in the right direction.

It's tripled over the last year thriller.... I don't think doubling over the next 12 months is too far father when you account for smr's, bbb rating, dividend, hedge funds / pension funds (on the back of the bbb rating and dividend), share buybacks and possible announcement of re entry into narrow body market... I would suggest £7 is Conservative.

wowsers... you actually speak some sense damo but i really don't understand why you need to **** off all and sundrie before sharing your thoughts. it's a (reasonably) friendly forum with a wide variety of views and knowledge. you've obviously grasped the basics rr and are reasonably literate, that doesn't give you carte blanche to be rude about other people's posts. if you don't like it just scroll on by.
