LB21 I’m not sure that you are correct. I think I read somewhere that the IDC don’t work like that. They will move on eventually to support another industry or company. Not geared up to share profits etc as business partner. Happy to be corrected. May be a matter of simply paying them back.

If correct then expect profits go to BE. No doubt this is an oversimplification but I think basically accurate.

Cindercone if you think £700 per year is a small price to pay then put your money where your mouth is, put in the long hours and hard work running the site and then and only then will you have earned the right to be a smart ar*e about what Alfa gave to us all. Taufour apparently the number of people accessing the site had tailed off sharply and I may be wrong but I believe this site cost £ several hundred per year to run. (Do please correct me Alfa if any of that is wrong.

I guess Alfacomp did a cost benefit analysis and came to the conclusion that it was the right time to finish.

“ Developments in China's vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) industry are expected by market participants to boost future vanadium demand.

China's aim to accelerate a transition to lower energy consumption and to stimulate demand for renewable energy and energy storage products during its 14th five-year economic plan for 2021-25 has prompted many companies to develop new VRFB projects.

Domestic energy firm VRB on 15 March announced a framework agreement to build a 100MW solar photovoltaic and 100MW/500MWh vanadium flow battery integrated power station in Xiangyang city in central China's Hubei province. The firm is also building several grid peaking plants with partners in multiple provinces.

Shanghai Electric has unveiled plans for a 100MW/400MWh VRFB project in Yancheng in east China's Jiangsu province. Rongke Power is on track to launch a 200MW/800MWh facility in Dalian in northwest China's Liaoning province this year.

Sichuan Xuteng Battery Energy in Panzhihua in southwest China's Sichuan province has signed an agreement with the local government to build a research and development industrial park for VRFB energy storage projects. Jiangxi Yinhui New Energy plans to build a new facility with output of 66,000 m³/yr for vanadium electrolyte in Yichun city in south China's Jiangxi province.

Yichun Jinkong has raised $1.5mn to finance a production project to demonstrate vanadium battery industrialisation.

VRFBs have a much larger energy storage capacity than lithium batteries. It is more effective for China's plans to achieve its target of peak carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, according to market participants. China aims to install 120GW of new wind and solar power generation capacity in 2021.

Market participants estimate around 9.25t of vanadium pentoxide is used in each MWh of vanadium storage battery. China is expected to install around 30-60GWh of new energy storage capacity by 2030, corresponding to 28,000-56,000 t/yr of extra demand for vanadium pentoxide during 2021-2030.”

bristolblue cheer up. It may not be quite as negative a picture as you are painting. Are you aware that much of China’s Vanadium production is a by product of making steel? Therefore it is likely that if steel production falls then so might the production of Vanadium.

“Primary titaniferous magnetite mines account for about 26% of global vanadium production. Coproduct steelmaking **** resulting from the processing of titaniferous magnetite ore supports about 59% of global vanadium.  Secondary sources supply about 15% of today’s vanadium production.”

Fortunately China is backing VRFBs big time and so if demand for vanadium from steel making falls a little some slack will be taken up for energy storage.

Similarly demand for vanadium globally for energy storage is predicted to rise. I trust you welcome this good news?

Shows the folly of blocking the development of renewable energy, particularly onshore wind, in the UK. Not enough capacity yet. And highlights that the UK needs to wake up to grid scale battery storage.

I will speak personally. In my early investing days I made some good decisions, some bad. I suspect that description could be used for most people. However every investment decision I ever made was mine and mine alone. Nobody forced me to read LSE or any other platform. Nobody forced me to buy or to sell. Those decisions were and are my responsibility.

What I read on bbs then and now was and is interesting and can be useful, but what I do with any info I consume from these sources is NOT the responsibility of the authors. It is mine. Nobody lost or gained me money other than the companies (ie the BoDs) I invested in and perhaps those with the power to manipulate the market (and that is way bigger than the average pi).

So please desist from accusing shareholders in BMN of losing other folks money. Everyone is responsible for their own investment decisions. End of story.

I can tell from the quality of you writing that you are no fool and quite capable of understanding exactly why such terms can appear to be loaded and completely unnecessary if one doesn’t wish to be provocative.

Anyone is free to express opinions on this bb and anyone is free to challenge such opinions. That is how it works. Unfortunately there has been a turn around of sentiment on this bb to the extent that those who strongly support BMN and who are prepared to express their opinions are these days more likely to be categorised and or targeted in the way you did (perhaps inadvertently) rather than thanked for their research and analysis.

It is almost as if those who are either underwater or who seek lower entry points want to blame some longterm investors for the fall in share price. That is completely unacceptable. No one knows the future direction of share price movement with any certainty when events like Covid of significant shorting activity can appear out of the blue and completely reverse the market.

Sadly because of this crazy reversal in sentiment on the bb many of the excellent contributors that gave so much over the years got sick and tired of the nonsense here (and I could but won’t name a number of posters in part responsible) and have moved to the Telegram group and elsewhere. Although I have not joined then I completely understand why. Your use of that term ‘old guard’ when seen in context is very provocative and I suggest if that is not your intention then think more carefully about your wording. It is easy to make your points without using collective terms or emotive labels.

Having said all that I look forward to future investments by you in BMN. The current low share price must look interesting given the progress the company is making.

Well five years go BMN was just another junior mining explorer with no revenue and an ambitious plan.

Today they have control of 2 of the 4 primary vanadium producing plants in the world, are constructing an electrolyte plant, installing a mini grid system at Vametco, have a number of partnerships in the energy storage business, including the IDC, and have undertaken extensive maintenance and expansion programmes at those 2 vanadium plants.

They have achieved all this despite a Vanadium price crash in 2019 and the ongoing COVID pandemic, both of which have inevitably slowed things down a little. That record is very impressive when placed alongside other AIM wannabes back in 2016.

Of course their plans have had to be adapted as events both global and local have unfolded but they are delivering on that key promise to build a large low cost vertically integrated vanadium platform. Fact.

Sooner or later the share price will reflect this and hopefully we will see the back of our shorters in the near future.

I believe that some people passing judgement on the Director’s disposal of some shares largely to pay related tax bills due from the issue of those shares really need to do some proper research.

The shares were issued following approval at the 2018 AGM (ie approved by shareholders !!!) in retrospective compensation for low salaries paid during the period of growing the business.

The Directors were given the choice of a lump sum payment or in shares. Therefore the shares issued at the time were the CHOICE of the Directors, thereby aligning themselves with shareholders interests. Had they opted for cash no one would have cared when they had to pay the associated tax bills and they would have had the cash to play with immediately.

As much of that award was instead paid in shares (restricted for sale for 12 months) the Directors had no such benefit of money in their pockets. In fact they waited almost three years to sell any and that was largely used to pay the tax bill.

For their patience and commitment to the company they have been rewarded with insults and the sort of ignorant stupidity witnessed this morning by our double poster.

And for the record when those shares were awarded to the BoD and others the share price had risen from a low of 1.5p or less in 2016 to 27p at the time if the approval vote at the 2018 AGM. That is a rise of 1,700 % (!!!!). I think they earned that compensation.

It’s all there in the 2017 Annual Report and the RNS following the 2018 AGM.
