I agree Sting. The only people who weren’t unhappy with the placing are the same ones desperately ramping the resumption of the EWT on twitter. They obviously took the placing and want to get out with a profit.
I make no recommendations as to risk and no predictions as to the future share price. The fact remains: there will be no resumption of flow testing at WNA-2. The only question now is when, and how, will they tell the market.
They’ll want to soften the blow. My guess is that next news will be an updated CPR with a paragraph informing that the Kirkham Abbey oil discovery will now be tested and appraised from WNB-1.

The last application for a temporary crude oil storage tank at West Newton was made in December 2018. All further permit variances were gas related. The last variance was approved and closed off on 6/8/19. No further applications since.

It was approved on 6th August before they had abandoned the well test. Looks like they wanted to add an oil storage tank as part of the original test plan for the gas EWT. That’s not sufficient to reconfigure the well for an oil EWT. WNB-1 is now in the presentation document as the Kirkham Abbey appraisal well. They don’t need to do it twice. The unfeasible delay and lack of any planning application evidence suggests that the EWT at WN has been totally abandoned and the Kirkham Abbey oil discovery will now be appraised from WNB-1 later in the year. They won’t burn money reopening the WNA-2 gas well and trying to reconfigure it as an oil well when they are fully funded to drill another well specifically engineered for that purpose.

If you’re waiting for the resumption of the EWT from WNA-2, you’ll be waiting a long time. No plans for it to go ahead.

Sellers are clued up investors who have now worked out that nothing further will be done at WNA-2 and the Kirkham oil EWT will only proceed after drilling of WNB-1 later in the year. GKB, To clarify, I’m not an oil expert, I’m not a driller or an exploration or a well expert. I’m a piping design and equipment layout engineer. I do mostly downstream process installations, oil production platform topsides, onshore refineries etc.
My assertion that WNA2 will not be flow tested for oil is my opinion based upon the evidence now available.
It is a fact that no oil could be put through that fan on the flare stack during the WNA2 test. That’s a fact. The rest is my opinion.

No. It was always planned to check out the possibility of a deeper, lower CoS oil play from the WNA-2 well.
There are now two drills from WNB. One into the separate Cadeby formation as was previously planned and a new one to sidetrack into this new, unexpected oil discovery in the Kirkham Abbey. They’re not drilling it for nothing. It will be tested from there IMO.

To sum up: They thought that the oil play was so unlikely at 24% that there was very little equipment there to flow it. There was an emergency back up tank for liquids and oily water separators in case they were needed but not the equipment for a substantial oil discovery and no glaring capability for oil.
WNA-2 was always a targeted gas play. WNB was always a targeted oil play into the deeper Cadeby but only one drill at WNB.
Now we have another drill at WNB. The original drill into the deeper Cadeby oil play is now called WNB-2. The new drill is WNB-1, a sidetrack into the newly discovered Kirkham Abbey 45M oil column. Why? To flow test it and get it to produce commercially from a more optimal location. All IMO. The KA oil could still be tested from WNA-2 but I can’t see it. Not after the addition of a new drill, specifically engineered as an oil well, whereas WNA-2 is a gas well that you lot think is going to be re-perfed and re configured as an oil well. That’s a much more risky approach in my opinion and with this new well now funded, it just doesn’t add up. Only my opinion.

The plan was always for a second well at WNA to target the Kirkham Abbey Gas play 72%CoS and the deeper possibility of an oil play 24%CoS. They found the oil and it was a 45M column with the expected gas cap. They unexpectedly perfed into oil but couldn’t get it to flow. EWT abandoned.
They put out an RNS saying the EWT was being redesigned. It has now been redesigned, hence the addition of the WNB-1 sidetrack drill into the oilplay. They’ll flow it from there. This is a new drill, not previously planned. It’s purely to test the Kirkham oil play and get it to flow. Junior oilers don’t drill holes they don’t need!!

Burning from the flare with “Black Smoke”. That is impossible. It was a gas flare. Physically incapable of burning oil or accepting any discharge of liquid. I’ve seen photos of it. It is of the forced induction type with a fan at the base of the flare stack. The fan is a direct draft forced induction fan. It induces a vacuum in the discharge line from the wellbore and sucks out any dangerous or noxious gases to prevent an accumulation. It is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to put liquids through that fan. It is not a pump! It is a fan! For gas. Liquids would destroy it. I’m an oil and gas piping and equipment engineer with 30years+ in the game. No oil flowed from that well. Currently IMO there is only about a 30% chance that the EWT will be resumed from WNA-2. I put it at 70/30 that the Kirkham Abbey oil will now be tested from the new sidetrack into it. A new drill, obviously planned specifically for that purpose. Nothings 100% but we’ll soon see. GLA. Even you gum flapping twitter numpties who in reality, know absolutely nothing about this industry.

Not Q2. Q2 was quoted by the company in the RBD project Wallace placing presentation docs to drill and test the WNB wells. This was a reasonable time for ii’s to wait. Drilling of WNB has since been put back to H2, so July, as quoted in the last RBD update RNS.

All planning approvals are a matter of record online. No planning approvals showing as pending for West Newton anywhere. I can’t find anything. It remains my assertion that WNA-2 EWT has not been suspended but abandoned and the oil discovery will be flow tested from the WNB drills in H2 2020, as was always the plan.

RBD told ii’s that WN oil would be flow tested from WNB in Q2 2020. That’s in the project Wallace presentation doc. Ii’s were happy with that as they generally have a more long term outlook than PIs. WNB drilling now gone out to H2 2020, along with well testing. RBD now switched focus to Parta IM1 production testing in Jan. Next will be Cali progress. UJO will focus on updating the market on Bisc and Wressle but it won’t work. Both SPs will continue to drift as the market only wants to know about the oil EWT at WNA-2. Its not happening though. Not until H2 2020 after drilling of WNB. That’s why RBD is down and has sellers. Clues up investors who know that there will be no WNA2 flow test. Mark my words. GLA.

Older, we’ll talk again in late January when the SP is another 20%+ down and there’s still no news about your fantasy WNA-2 oil flow test starting. They won’t risk it. It won’t happen. The WNB wells in H2 2020 will be the first ones flow tested for oil. Wait and see.

That’s all gas equipment, separators and scrubbers but it’s not for oil. The flare has a forced induction fan on it too so can’t put liquids thro that. The smaller flares are discharges from PRVs, Pressure Relief Valves. Laying out and designing oil and gas offshore topsides is what I do for a living. Google what a PDMS Piper is.

Then, by the incompetent silence of our Bod and lack of news, PoundShop is back again to rinse and repeat.
