The wellpad and handstand has to be poured before spud. The issue is not with what will be disturbed by drilling activity but what will be damaged by construction groundwork’s for foundations and hardcore for the wellpad then subsequently covered by concrete. Once you get to spud stage everything is completed. Archaeologists don’t attend a well spud. Ha.
Looks like a good day coming up. Most expert commentary where previously skeptical of a deal are now talking of the magnitude and effect only. Shorts got to close today, at least some will. High buying volume blue day coming up. Strong buy at the bell. Fill or kill buy order in for my last 25,000 top up. GLA.
There’s a lot of shorts though isn’t there and they can’t all close tomorrow so some unfortunates will have to take the pain if we open at 35+ on Tuesday. I’m not a high finance expert, I’m an engineer, so this is not my bag but somebody said a lot of the shorts are open as hedges against bonds they hold. In that case do they just leave them open? How does that work if the stock goes back into the pounds? They’d owe millions then to close. Seems a bit counterproductive to leave them open but I know FA to be fair. I know about topsides layout and pumps and pipes n sh17 lol.
Algerian oil minister has let slip that OPEC are discussing a combined cut of 10M. Russians have confirmed they are willing to cut 1.6M. Poss why oil flying...

Have as many posts removed as you like but wont change the fact that Rathlin will be shovelling mud at West Newton for a minimum of 13 weeks. The detailed breakdown of truck movements is in their community liason meeting minutes and it clearly states 13 weeks for the access road, groundworks and prep for the wellpad. That is not including and delays for Covid19 and of course the archaeological excavations and expert analysis that has to be done to comply with the planning consent. The whole footprint of the wellpad and hardstand has to be slowly excavated so as not to disturb any possible artefacts then a team of archaeologists will look through it before signing it off. If the archaeologists find anything then Rathlin will not be allowed to pour a wellpad over it and they will have to revisit the seismics for another drill location and reapply for planning permission. Best case scenario, if all goes well and the archaeologists find nothing then WNB could spud mid August at the earliest. That goes back if theres any holdups with protesters etc. Worst case scenario is if the archaeologists find some old pot or a coin then its all off until next year. Thats the facts. Look in the minutes for the groundworks timescale and the arcaeological dig requirements. DYOR.
I agree with your post yesterday Magsy. You nailed it!!....

I do think there will be a few dips along the way that will present some opportunities but LTH shouldn’t be too concerned with that.

Picked up a few more on this shake. Sold some WoodGroup that’s in profit. Will be buying all the dips while I can. Accumulation is the name of the game.

It was a nightmare to get back in yesterday and I managed to get 170k over the day. I don’t care if it goes to 23 or 24 or whatever. I’m confident that in the short term even, weeks, these will be worth in the 40s. Good luck with your strategies whatever it is but I’m holding and accumulating now. I’ll be gradually selling out of other holdings as they recover but I’m not selling any.
And people shouldn’t post ludicrous fear monger IG garbage like this ....
“The virus is here to stay until the end of summer for sure so the demand for oil will be hit long term...”
Trying to infer that this current situation will be present until after summer, so you’re saying everybody sat at home and economies paralysed until September. Lol at that. No country can afford that. There is an article in the mail today about stage 2 of the CV19 plan and the return to work. There won’t be flying and international travel for a few months but people will be driving around, commuting and back at work within weeks. We have to be. I’m in Spain, one of the hardest hit and it’s already being talked about. Italy also will be phasing back to normal this month but with continued social distancing. Let’s have a little less dramatic scare mongering please.

I don’t know who “StockWizard” is who’s tweeted the article with the #TLW tag but retweet it again and add the #OOTT tag as well. Lots of oil traders and investors are searching the tag currently for news on the OPEC talks. ;-)
