In the interview the bloke clearly and plainly says that the test used is a blood antibody test “Developed by Oxford University”.

Shocking news I know, and hard to believe but the Mologic Elisa Test you refer to was developed by.....errr.......Mologic!!

It can’t be the Mologic Elisa Test because that hasn’t been “...developed by the University of Oxford...”. That Elisa Test was developed by Mologic.

LB28. That link you posted is to a study, not a test.

Peter Benton, Director of the ONS does refer to the study as you posted, but he also specifically refers to a “test”. He says within that study 10% of people are having a blood test developed by the University of Oxford. You are deliberately ignoring the plain and simple fact that he mentions TEST, TEST on a number of occasions!....

According to another commentator who seems knowledgeable, “Scaled Up” could mean....

“It is possible that it means that they have a test that works, and that meets or exceeds the 98% reliability threshold, and they are now working on demonstrating that it can maintain reliability under mass production. Once that is shown, they can freeze the design.”

Scaling up in this context could possibly mean....

A friend of mine in medical sales says there are currently no more than 20 or 30 of these Roche Elecsys Cobas e machines in the UK so they’ve have to kit the labs out too. Their throughput varies on size and cost. Smallest do about 86 tests per hour and biggest do 800 but they’re as big as a large professional fitted kitchen!
Analyzing 50 million blood samples would take forever. Then you’ve got the logistics, risk and public dissatisfaction with drawing intravenous blood.
The Gov knows this is a non starter. They are using the media as useful idiots and have thrown them a tasty morsel to chew on to take the heat off the scandal of thousands of unaccounted for deaths in care homes.
That’s it in a nutshell.

For those who don’t know what FUD is, we’ve had it in spades today....

Looking at the wider market which is mostly significantly down and considering all the uninformed misleading FUD we have had to deal with from the media today I think just being 6% down is a massive plus. That goes down as a blue day for me.
Many blue chips down a lot too, Shell down 6% too.
AVCT also down 6% on no FUD.

Today shows how much support and enthusiasm there is for this stock in the market. This will fly on any positive news from the RTC.

Yes they are idiots. Just watched a discussion between Adam Boulton and Ali Fortescue on Sky News where they said that this Roche Test is a finger prick test for home!! FFS.

Just watched a discussion on BBC News where both their medical correspondent and the News anchor interviewer ended the discussion totally perplexed about how the Government intended to persuade 200,000 people per day to turn up for an intravenous blood test.

They basically said “we’ve seen the problems persuading people to go for a mouth swab antigen test. It remains to be seen how many people will be willing to go for a more invasive procedure like having blood drawn...”
