Effectively yes...so the market maker will take some risk, so if the direction of travel is down he'll be happy to short stock (sell what he doesn't own in the hope that he can buy back later at a lower price) and if its up, he'll be happy to buy stock...but in a stock like this, where the next major move will likely be another 50% move (in either direction) he won't want to be running too much risk...

What on earth do you mean by 'returned' shares...??...if you, me or anyone wants to sell our shares, the market makers will provide you a bid based on the buy orders they are working...if they do not have a buyer, the market maker will move the price until he finds a buyer...what typically happens in these instances is you get a capitulatory 'bottom' (sounds painful) where all abandon ship and a buyer steps in...but there is no market maker in the world who will blindly buy a big parcel of shares (£20k or so) in a company like JOG without knowing where he can sell them on... no buy orders...down we drift if we have ongoing sellers...if / when a buyer appears, then the market maker can march the price back up until he finds the sellers again...a market-makers job is really a very simple one in a story like this, nice wide bid offers and little or no risk.

the complete confidence that the bears (who have been in absentia for months) have that JOG has no future and how wonderfully kind they are being in telling us investors that we've got an hour or so before JOG is rendered worthless...the good news is - unless they are on the board of Equinor (and thus subject to all sort of market abuse regulation) - they will have as much knowledge as we as to the future...it might well be that they are right...equally, it might well be that Equinor say 'actually we are suitably optimistic to stay here for a month'...so let the bears play their tunes, the bulls theirs and we'll know soon enough who was right... 75p seems about right to me as a valuation until clarity is given either way. With plenty of upside and only 75p left of downside :-)

Loading is a bit strong TT but yes, it does seem that we have a fair balance of buyers down here at 5p....

Given the accuracy of my prediction of the previous corporate announcement, anyone willing to bet the case of Felton Road Pinot that B7 owes me (and from whom we have heard precisely nothing in recent weeks - Blue rill or Mc91 you didn't shoot him did you on one of your squirrel hunts?) that the next Tender / Corporate action will be at 60p in mid-summer? same size to take all those excess shares that are apparently washing around!

The trade will be cancelled. I had left an order to buy some at 1.40 which was never filled....

I also think the other fear was the company would run out of money before any of its Stem cell or Retinal treatments could get to market...so we had the strange and unpleasant spectacle of a company worth 95p a share just on cash in the bank trading as low as 45p...there have been a couple of disappointments with US pharma coming over for a one night stand but never leaving their number in the morning as well which hasn't helped! But as per all comments below, it would appear that finally the company after many years of trying is producing the results that got us all excited all those years ago!

that you could buy as much stock as you like for the last 3 years without moving the needle....then a little M&A in the space and some good news on the retinal side (as I was saying to a friend I' sure I invested because of its gene therapy business, with the retinal very much a side-play!) and we are 3x up from the lows...given cash is worth 90p, then despite this rally I have to assume there is a sporting chance I might get a good proportion of my initial investment back...that's something I never thought I'd say!

hi there...you will have sold I think 70% at 46p...and you should see the ££ that have been raised from the sale in your cash account? the good news is - say you bought 1000 shares at 30p, you will have sold 700 at 46p and your cost of the remaining 300 is pretty much zero (actually negative!)....so the corporate action is now over for this buy back/tender.

Ideally to about £5 so most of us can at least get back to B/E :-)

What a quite wonderful repudiation of all the bile and nonsense posted on here yesterday. Anyone who lost money (big or small) has only themselves to blame...you were most certainly not duped or misled into buying...you bought because you liked the story and read a few bits of research. If Dick's posts were the reason why you invested, more fool you - he at least has the dignity and honesty to admit yesterday's drill result was far from what he, we, the board or the major institutional shareholders were hoping for.
It may well be a zero from here, it may yet discover more oil than JOG could ever need to make us all a lot richer...but for gawd sake, make your investment in any £45mm market cap (what it was before yesterday's move) company with your eyes wide open....and only invest what you can afford to lose...now that is investment advice!

Without in anyway wishing to suggest she gets bombarded, I think the company needs as many optimists big and small to renew the fight! It might be that if enough PIs inquire, then he could have a town hall type meeting...not sure tho if that's his style...the problem as I see it it as that there is an army of us enthusiasts and he (AK) doesnt seem to understand that we will be willing mouthpieces for the good news...provided we get some!

It was actually very easy - i contacted the broker Allenby - lovely lady by the name of Amrit Nahal, said i now owned post placing and other daft purchases 2% of this company and would like some time with AK. So 15th April it is. Very happy to report back or ask any 'sensible' questions this board might want - but I quite like 'patch6's straight forward ones to start with...
I say daft purchases as they are currently deeply under water...they will of course be deep value and brilliant ones when my 20p target is reached....when = if?? Fingers n toes crossed...

One last straw - at least the directors are b&lls deep in this...so their skin in the game will mean they will do what they can to make it work...but retirement has been postponed for a few weeks!

You need to be very careful jumping to conclusions...the last time we dropped to 30p, a few weeks later we were at £3.50 when the side track was drilled...there is oil down there (as per others I note the shorters who come in rubbing their hands with glee)...but lets deal with facts...we know Equinor think there is oil down there in size...we have Cortina...we have the Buchan option...its certainly not worth selling below 50p...so having dropped 60% to 80p not sure what u r saving by hitting the bid here...

cash at last reports £22.1mm ...no sidetrack as equinor want to look at seismic...drill costs under expectations.
