If (and I do) you think that the healthy should never have been locked away, quicker HI, protect the vulnerable, funnel money and resources to them for a much shorter time etc. Then until this government admits they got it wrong, what will happen now when the next bug is identified? They have set a terrible precedent... Ok, ok, tin foil, but if you were the leader of China would you not also be looking at ways to prolong this over-reaction and destruction of the west, possibly start another one?
With all the lies, misleading statistics, propaganda, crushing of descent and protest, censorship online, police handling, mistrust of scientists that has happened and been fostered etc. I am growing concerned and have lowered my position quite a bit since getting back into profit a couple of months ago here. It will be a shame for me if this recovers and doubles in quick succession but I can't shake the feeling that if they can handle this soo very badly then who knows what could come next.
The only positive I would hope is that very powerful people also rely on businesses thriving to stay powerful, but many business owners, apart from a couple of notable exceptions (Wetherspoons) seem to be completely silent. Maybe it's the big ones who are hoovering up all the money, the little guys are certainly making a noise as their lives are destroyed. Entertainment and travel being the hardest hit.
Boris had it right at the start and he royally screwed the pooch.
I bought in at 60 months ago when I felt the recovery would be swift, averaged all the way down to 16 but with scraps, I still think scientifically that was right, the media->public->gov had a different opinion apparently. Held for months on what seemed an obvious treble and paid an enormous opportunity cost in shares I would likely have held for the rest of my life.
Oh well, good to learn these lessons with relatively small sums.
