Presumably nowadays with the numbers of people trading and bots the speed at which transitions happen is a lot quicker than back then when things were, shall we say, a little slower :)

I still have trouble deciding whether predicting the price movements using TA actually causes the price movements. Not having a go at what you say Ophidian as I think it 's invaluable us an indication of how a percentage of the people trading in Bushveld will be viewing the sp movement.

It's just a bit too much 'cause and effect' for me. If nobody did any TA would the share price follow the same movements? A lot of TA is to give you the advantage to make your move before the sp does. However in making your move before the sp begins you start the momentum in that direction. Everyone else using TA would presumably follow the same direction and then the masses seeing a share going up who then decide to get in.

Only my opinion and as I'm here for the £'s not the pennies it doesn't concern me, just find it a bit of a curiosity.

The Portfolio Committee on Energy in South Africa has adopted its report on the draft Integrated Resource Plan (2018)

The committee received 41 written submissions, including 38 requests to make oral submissions from various stakeholders in the energy sector.

The recommendations include:

· Expedite the finalisation of the IRP 2018 within the current financial year to restore public confidence and promote policy certainty in the energy sector.

· Review the IRP every two years. In this regard, an immediate study should be conducted to better inform the review of the IRP.

· Seriously consider the concerns raised on demand forecasts, assumptions used, and the robustness of the modelling.

· Given the uncertainty in future demand, technologies and innovation, the committee recommends that any IRP should be flexible enough to respond to the uncertainties, including exploring the feasibility of new and agile approaches to energy provision in this rapidly changing energy environment.

· Direct the department to conduct a thorough socio-economic impact assessment of various energy mix scenarios in preparation for the review of the IRP by 2020.

· Hold a national dialogue on the Just Energy Transition during the current financial year. This should particularly focus on communities that are going to be affected by the transition from the use of fossil fuels.

· Ensure that externalities/environmental impacts of the proposed energy mix are considered in a meaningful way.

· Expedite the finalisation of the Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) and the Gas Utilisation Master Plan (GUMP).

· Include local government in the IRP planning process, including the implementation thereof.

· Ensure that the IRP 2018 and all subsequent IRPs focus more on developing local industries than the reliance on imported technologies.

· Consider alternatives to replace the 2500MW in the event that the Grand Inga project does not come on line in time.

· Increase the allocation of embedded generation from the current 200MW in the draft IRP to at least 500MW.

· The IRP should make it explicit that both coal and nuclear will remain important elements of South Africa’s energy mix. In the case of coal, new clean coal technologies should be pursued.

· The Minister of Energy should convene an energy summit to comprehensively discuss and map out the energy future for South Africa.

yes please Alfa. Maybe see if you can find any existence of the duplicate 375,000 trades I can see on the ********** trades section for BMN or does anyone else see them on the platforms they use?

I'm on the Voxmarkets BMN page and the last trades section shows two 375,000 trades @ 43p at 16:19

It does feel that the company has been raising the Bushveld Energy business a lot over the last few weeks. For them to then release no news and let that groundwork dissipate would seem to be a waste which is why I believe that news has to be soon, imminent etc

Hi Daisan, Mikhail previously stated after the problem with the electrolyte that the Bushveld Energy quarterly update would be in November. Plus I emailed Chika after the webinar and she said by the end of November, also someone at the Mines and Money today saw Chika who said by the end of the month.

During the 12 month period new investments were made in Tesco, Royal Bank of Scotland, Amigo, Rolls-Royce, Phoenix Spree Deutschland, MJ Gleeson, Bushveld Minerals, CVS, Endeavour Mining, On the Beach, Capita, Future and Dairy Crest. Meanwhile the portfolio’s holdings in Lloyds, Shire, BTG, SAGA, Rentokil, Hiscox, BAE Systems, Electra Private Equity and Real Estate Investors were sold.

The portfolio’s holdings in Bushveld Minerals and Gamma Communications also provided notable contributions to returns. Shares in Gamma, a telecommunications services provider, traded strongly throughout the period, making gains on the release of results for the first half of 2018, which showed an improved growth outlook buoyed by contract wins and an expanded pipeline.

Meanwhile AIM-listed vanadium producer Bushveld Minerals was bolstered in the latter half of the period by news that the company had acquired a further 21.22% stake in Strategic Minerals Corporation (SMC). SMC is the majority owner of Vametco, Bushveld’s South African vanadium mine, of which the company now owns 76% (the residual having been transferred under South Africa’s Black empowerment rules). With vanadium showing the strongest performance of all industrial metals this year to date and the supply demand outlook still compelling, the position has been maintained.

The problem is these posters have been typing the same inept posts for four years predicting the demise of Bushveld and its share price, only to then be put in their place by the company doing what they say they will.

I'm not getting jittery, Alfa you getting jittery, knuttie? Ophidian? nick? Richken? well, you get the idea, it would be a long list of non jittery investors. You name one jittery investor, let them respond and we'll see if we can calm their nerves and save them from making a financial mistake.

Hi Yachty, sorry, I wasn't implying that all of the extra should be a windfall dividend, only that Fortunes plans would have been based on a high V price but I can't see he would have gambled his forward planning on a spike in V just when they needed it but more than likely based on a modest uplift in the price of V.

I just think doing something positive for shareholders would essentially have no impact on his plans as I would expect a modest dividend of a 1p, heck even 0.5p would be fine to start with and would have no impact on what can be achieved.

When Fortune first mentioned the dividend policy the vanadium price was nowhere near what it is and he was talking of rewarding shareholders. What’s happened since with the v price and profit per tonne will mean a surplus he couldn’t have envisaged at the time he made that statement so that’s extra money he wasnt expecting. I fully expect to get a cut of this at the FY end.
