Hotel Collection has emerged successfully from a pre pack administration and shed a third of it's £350m debt burden. Grant Hearn former CEO of Travelodge has been appointed chairman. Fears for future of Company dispelled. From today's paper.

The Hotel Collection has announced several new Appointments recently, Operating Director, Marketing Director and HR Director and commented on how well trading is currently. Seems like a healthy going concern to me so hopefully HCP will benefit at some point. Of course this is AIM so fingers crossed.

I would be a little concerned at the appointment of a new CEO with no experience in the housing sector and would also want to check how much of the current profit is down to the market anyway and how much is due to good management of the business going forward. in any case the Company is a good barometer for the market.

Stayed in Harrogate at the weekend. Hotel much busier than last stay and noticed an article in one of the Sunday papers to confirm hotel sector is attracting some overseas investment and to expect mergers and takeovers. you never know.
