Iron ore - Halt production / Raises prices25 Sep 2021 02:27
GWR Group (GWR) suspends mining operations at the C4 Iron Ore Mine on the back of fallen iron ore prices
Unfortunately for the company, the suspension follows a record operational month with 139,422 tonnes of ore transported in August
Despite the loss in momentum, GWR says the WA project is ‘production-ready’ and is prepared to take advantage whenever iron ore prices do recover
GWR officially halted operations on September 19th and expects this to last 30 days while it assesses project economics and reviews market conditions
All this bodes well for the market the same thing happens in other commodities markets like silver. These big company's sell a shed load into price rises and saturate the market and then the prices fall and they hold back and stop production till it rises again. They say they will ride out the volatility but they cause it to their advantage.
While they are sitting still they will be looking to splash the cash on developing new mines for the next boom. Hello majors we are UFO. We live in Pilbara where cash is king.
