'Please feel free of back up your statement with whichever news channel or newspaper article you choose, only I couldn't find one that said that.'
I will back up nothing from the mainstream media as its not correct.
What we have is facts, early in the war when ex army vets (gulf war, Afghanistan) who went over there did interviews with telegram channels, they stated it was something they never faced before because they did not have superiority through air cover. Basically you were marching to your death, it was obvious from that statement early on which way it was going to go. Did we get a rush of ex vets and mercenaries going there, I don't know?

So we were then treated to Telegram channels showing all the equipment we sent over ending up being destroyed and in a metal graveyard not mentioning all the money siphoned off for other purposes. Also a lot of weapons and artillery ending up on other continents sold on the black market. Possibly equipment caught by Russian forces and sold for their war profit booty - who knows.
We then had secretary Blinken saying the fighting age for Ukrainians should be lowered to 18, so evidently running out of men.
Now we have the Americans flip flopping on sending arms there.

Not forgetting the fact the US tax payer has been virtually funding everything over there, wages, military etc etc for a good while.
As for David Lamy our Foreign Secretary with Putin and Trump derangement syndrome, he can become a mercenary get a gun and go to the front line himself. The cost to the UK tax payer is the number one reason we should not be involved in the conflict.
As for the front line there are military buffs who post stuff up in Telegram which is of great interest showing how the operations work and which neighbourhoods are being cleared out.
Id say its pretty much over, or I ask where do we get the men to fight this conflict from? I am not prepared to lose a single member of the UK armed forces for this purpose, treat your men and women with respect and ask them to risk their lives for our Realm only.
