' points exactly to why people would choose to pay to have a test done. And not only for covid.'
No I pay National Insurance to cover the cost of those tests or I want it refunding back to me!
'But it strikes me that you sought medical help for a condition that was causing you concern - but you question the fact that other people may choose to pay to get similar answers for other ailments. You may see covid itself as trivial , but its one of many illnesses that cause concern to a lot of people - so again another reason that people may pay to have a variety of health tests carried out. You lay out in great detail exactly why you were concerned , so I would imagine that you should be able to relate to the health concerns of others. Hence another reason why private health & private health testing exists.'
Why does COVID cause a lot of concern to people? I don't think it caused any concern amongst the politicians who just ignored the lock down rules.
'The "health of others" is in reference to the army of people who work in close contact with vulnerable people or who come into regular contact with the vulnerable , those who would suffer greatly if exposed to covid. Sorry you feel that i am trying to lay a guilt trip on you. I am even more sorry that you feel that people who get covid tests are looking for a skive.'
What world do you live in? and yes people did use it for a skive once some school kids found dipping the test in orange juice gave out positives
'Indeed heating, eating & lighting are a great concern for many. And yet my local supermarket still sells champage , I see plenty high end cars everyday, the airports are getting back to lots of people jetting off to pleasant destinations while the old granny up the street worries about keeping the heating on. People still have money. This does not mean everybody. Unfortunately.'
Plenty of high end cars, most are on HP. I am seeing lots of Kia and Hyundai.
'You also go on to say that you yourself pay for a test once a year ...so there is in fact a market for private testing. Hence the folks here are looking forward to the new products.'
Agreed.
'Lastly re: the alleged sporting event... putting aside any moral consideration - that means somebody somewhere bought & paid for all those tests. Which strikes me as being good for the company that sells them.'
Remember when the govt supplied the chemists with them and you could get them for free, who paid for them, the tax payer!
'But as ive already said, if you can't see the point in covid testing right now, or private health testing down the line - then I would put your time, money & energy elsewhere.'
Bring out your dead Bring out your dead.
