We cannot import oil from abroad unless we have a secured supply of our own should we require it, or we become sitting ducks like Japan.

If Im taxed 35% on £1m I pay £350'000 in tax and make £650000 at oil say $100 a barrel.

If I make £1.1m I pay £385000 in tax and make £715000. at oil say $110 a barrel.

The more I make £715000 - £650000 even after tax the more I take home, as in this case £65000.

I’ve only just invested the last few months, regretting it already due to the timescale horizon.
