Over the last year, Mark has used various alliances with 3rd parties to demonstrate CytoLytix’ versatility as a potential “wonder drug”. In the Omios evaluation, CLX is being used alongside a virus and using the body’s own defence mechanisms (immunotheraphy) to fight the cancer pathogens.

In the Altus evaluation, Val is investigating to see if anti-inflammatory drugs can be repurposed into oncology applications and involves the use of Cytolytix to look for combinations that exhibit synergistic effects by testing on a range of Inaphaea PDCs.

Meanwhile, the rapid advances in AI are also covered, enabling rapid testing of cancer samples. The Screen in 3D evaluation uses ‘Lab-on-a-Chip’ technology and 3D imaging to analyse 3 Inaphaea Triple Negative PDCs and will be used to support the CLX peptide program.

Mark continually emphasises the potential synergetic effect of CLX when used in conjunction with other oncology treatments. “As well as killing cancer cells, CytoLytix releases antigens that stimulate the immune system, potentially creating a synergy with immuno-oncology therapeutic approaches.” (Linkedin)

We know the CLX SPV is being prepared. Mark has already said that the key to creating a more saleable product is by “adding value”. Every avenue is being explored to demonstrate CLX’s potency and versatility and thus create a product the biopharma market urgently awaits. You can be sure that, while the SPV is being finalised, Mark is already sounding out companies for early partnering and in light of our CEO’s business acumen, it is feasible that one RNS could encompass both the SPV and an early deal.

As we approach the first anniversary of Dr Eccleston’s appointment as CEO, it might be an appropriate time to look at his achievements, both at Val and career-wise.

Mark has long been a respected scientist, with over 30 years’ experience across multiple biopharma fields. However, unlike most gifted colleagues, he is also a successful businessman, with 26 patents to his name. As founder of Volition, a Valirx spin off, he engineered the sale of a canine cancer test for $26m, while growing the company to a $250m market cap.

When he was appointed CEO, like any good manager he didn’t go in all guns blazing. He spent time observing both the people and the operation, deciding where change was necessary, where cost-savings could be made and improvements implemented. As a long-term Val investor, Mark was underwater and knew the cycle of constant dilutions had to end and the company initially become self-financing if ever it was to grow to its potential.

He reluctantly decided it was time to move some members on and brought in top-class additions, building HIS team. A select group of colleagues who were skilled in their own fields but also had the work ethic and commitment he required. Being a small select group, they also need to be flexible and capable of covering for colleagues as and when necessary.

The financial situation needed resolving next. His commercial awareness enabled him to raise at 0.65p when many predicted 0.2p or even a further consolidation. Furthermore, he included a safety net of warrants, actionable from 1.3p. As we move closer to actioning the warrants, a potential £3.15m windfall edges closer (242m *1.3p).

As part of the placing, Mark also fulfilled an earlier promise, building his Val holding to c6m shares. A firm financial commitment realigning his own interests with those of long-suffering shareholders. At last, the impact on the SP would become a major consideration in any business decisions.

Resolving the legacy issues came next. TRX was given a final chance to complete but with conditions they couldn’t satisfy it was time to call it a day. The Imperial College evaluation too was put on ice as no immediate prospect of being monetised.

Ambrose, conversely were given an extension to make a decision on 401 and recently agreed a deal which potentially could prove very lucrative to Val, with Inaphaea income along the way as the labs and PDCs are utilised to further develop and test the asset.

201, meanwhile is now being fast-tracked into a new prostate cancer focussed SPV, with extended patents being prepared. While TrX were deliberating, Mark was already investigating alternatives resulting in interest from Taiwan. This could well progress when the SPV is launched.

CLX001 has long been Val’s greatest asset and a major focus for the entire team to monetise ASAP. Collaborations and alliances are already in progress to assess different formulations of CLX. Again, Inaphaea’s own labs and biobank give Val a distinct advantage in pre-clinical testing, both from a cost and availability perspective. The imminent SPV is sure to attract significant interest from pharma with triple negative breast cancer a high unmet clinical need. Of 2.3m annual cases of breast cancer, 15-20% are triple negative. It is highly aggressive and metastatic (ie travels from its original site to distant parts of the body).

The StingRay Evaluation completed last November and Mark has confirmed an update is imminent. Val spent £100k of a tight budget on StingRay and to be in negotiation 8 months down the line, clearly Mark sees value in the project. Bear in mind, our CEO is only pursuing assets which can be monetised early so it looks promising.

The University of Dundee evaluation is another which is simmering. This focusses on Pro-Senescence treatments. It has already been confirmed that the compound works – the delay is to confirm WHY it works. Prof Bishop and her team at Queen Mary Uni are currently investigating using specialist equipment. This evaluation has cost Val only £9k, the majority of the funding was via a grant.

Over the years. Mark has established and nurtured numerous contacts throughout the industry, on the commercial side, scientific side and educational establishments. Mark’s entrepreneurial instincts were always scouting potential market opportunities which he would capitalise on when the time was right. In his first year as CEO, he has entered into several collaborations and alliances which he hopes will bear fruit over the coming years. He has also set up the Advisory Board headed by Cathy and staffed by Drs Robles and Wheeler, both giving an international flavour to the group. Tasked with identifying further commercial opportunities, their business background suggests veterinary science is sure to be a factor.

Today’s, and the recent SP increases are due to a shortage in free float. Simple economics of supply and demand – and this is just in ‘anticipation’ of news. With so much pending, key investors are building their holdings, seeing Val as a tremendous investment opportunity. A few posters on here disagree. Some, are simply mischief makers, others continually reflect on Val’s history, which is admittedly questionable. However, if early indications were a sign of things to come, a host of “A list” companies would have folded long before reaching today’s heady heights. Look at the reborn Val and make a decision based on that, not on a history book. If still in any doubt, look at Viera’s (Nick Slater-trader) posting history. As a Val holder, I admit to promoting the Company. I’d be silly not too, particularly as I see it as a tremendous opportunity. At least I am consistent in my position, as is Uncanny, himself a biopharma entrepreneur, stockbroker and significant 6% holder.

Nick has made a packet trading Val in the past but currently finding it very difficult to manipulate the SP. It is not for a lack of effort. The chances are he has recently sold out on the spike and now wants to get back on board, so along with his mates spreading FUD, hoping to scare sensitive souls into selling.

Let’s look at his recent unwavering trading stance:

"No agenda as I swear on my kids’ life, I will never buy a share again in this mess” (27th Mar). An amazing statement from any father especially given his constant changes in stance re Val. AGAINST

Yet, less than 2 weeks later he is back ramping Val: “What a bargain……bodes well for huge gains” (7th Apr). FOR

Until, 5 days later:” Mgm’t here is shambles, it’s a lifestyle co where they travel, drink and spend our money” (12th April). AGAINST

The following day: “Val have 3 bagged many times and there is a good chance it will happen again before the summer” (13th Apr). FOR

A week later: “Same old Val. Deliver sweet FA but still command large salaries which us idiots finance investing in placings” (22nd Apr). AGAINST

Took a short break before again singing Val’s praises: “Looks like ME is doing a great job….” & “….I do think this is about to explode upwards” (4th May). FOR

It didn’t last long, “Mark, any idea what year you’re expecting to deliver a profit? May. I suggest NEVER! (3rd June). AGAINST

More swings than a pendulum, yet according to himself, Nick has no agenda!

If Viera is posting on a share, he has an agenda. If he is only posting on one solitary company (VAL), you can be absolutely certain he sees significant potential for gains.

At last we are in agreement! Anyway, off for a paddle LOL.

LOL. Wow, like moths to a flame, almost the full team has been called in! Even the delusional multi-millionaire, Ratcliffewrirer, who regularly asks posters on the Val forum whether he should invest? Hilarious!

Sheer panic by Pink Nick, ringing round to muster urgent support from his cronies. SP rising, even prior to the glut of news due to drop anytime but all the MMs do is increase the spread. How is a trader supposed to make money?

Well. the good news is Pink Nick will soon be able to action his warrants and run for the hills with his 10% profit. Sadly, he’ll then be back to try and get back in lower, leading with his BDM fallacy, a position which doesn’t even exist. His criticism of Mark T (worked for a bucket-shop broker) is personal, pure, simple and very, very childish. It was not surprising that for someone who revels in his own publicity, Mr Slater was noticeably absent at the AGM Q&A session. Understandable as our CEO would have relished embarrassing him.

Cost concerns will be his leading line of BS on here, even though ME has reduced the headcount to 9, reduced overheads considerably, brought in pure quality in Michelle B to work alongside Melissa (cream always rises) and appointed a top-quality Advisory Board, headed by Cathy (to identify where Val should invest the imminent warrant income – veterinary science is sure to be a factor).

Our CEO, meanwhile is promoting Val on Podcasts, international science fairs, Linkedin, Award Presentations (Oh yeah, Inaphaea recently won start-up), Q&A sessions and regular website updates. Still have queries? Don’t gripe on a forum, e-mail Mark direct. I guarantee he will respond to any genuine question he is able to answer.

Still a bit hesitant, no problem. Look up immunotheraphy, personalised medicine, the use of machine-learning and AI in Bio research, Lab-on-a-Chip’ tech, comparative oncology and repurposed assets. Never heard of pro-senescence treatments or LMTK3 -don’t worry you will. Val has them all covered.

Forget the Val of 5, 3 or even one year ago, save history lessons for the classroom. Val is a company reborn. A top-quality team lead by a top-class CEO/scientist with been there, done that experience, totally committed financially and work-wise to Val. Only a limited number of shares available, though a few more will be issued shortly as the warrants are actioned at around £1.50.

An enlightening and enjoyable podcast (as a Val holder).

Mark is fairly unique as a CEO. He is obviously a respected scientist with extensive experience in multiple arenas. This allows him to identify areas where different fields overlap. However, unlike many gifted colleagues, he has also gained considerable commercial experience both as an employee, entrepreneur and director/CEO. In the podcast he referred to “learning the language of business”. He recognises the demands of the market and what will be commercially attractive. This will allow him to bridge the worlds of science and commerce.

Like any good manager, Mark recognised that he cannot do it alone. Having taken time to assess the staff and their strengths/weaknesses, he made the painful but necessary changes reducing the headcount down to 9, cutting costs considerably, yet streamlining his team and adding where he considered necessary. He admits he has high demands and expectations from each member, yet believes all can rise to the challenge. The result is a compact yet experienced team with individuals being stretched “beyond their comfort zone”, though support and training are available where required. The result is “a highly motivated and engaged team”. Everyone specialises in a defined role yet are also competent to cover up to 50% of at least one other role as necessary.

In the podcast he also referred to “setting up the next series of SPVs”. Normally, a series is considered 3 or more! Mark also talked of multiple opportunities out there. However, he then qualified it by clarifying that investors can accept “a missed opportunity”, yet are less tolerant towards a failed project, considered a drain on time, resources, money and a missed opportunity elsewhere. Yet again, Mark’s business acumen will determine Val’s next steps with priority now being given to assets which can be monetarised early.

Mark has an unerring confidence in his ability to achieve an objective. Suffice to say, he has put his own pension and savings on the line, convinced he can lead Val to success. Considering the transformation he has achieved in less than a year, those holding their shares tightly believe he will. Those not invested, don’t matter!

Kuschall – While I would suggest “hatred” may be a touch strong, I admit to a resentment of many posts by the anti-Val brigade. As a punter with a significant investment in the Company, like many other holders I regularly express a positive opinion in my posts, reflecting a genuine belief in the Company’s potential. I have never posted a negative opinion on a different company’s forum berating that share. I may have an opinion, but keep it to myself as it is not down to me to criticise others’ investments on their own forum.

On the other side of the fence, a group of individuals, in the main with no holdings in the Company, gets their daily kicks mocking holders, posting lies or opinions deliberately aimed at downplaying Val’s potential. One specific individual has spent over 3 years and thousands of posts predicting the Company’s demise, yet here we still are, and I would argue in fine fettle, while his own abysmal track record includes multiple failures and even insolvencies. The “saving other investors” argument falls flat on its face at this point as he ramped these companies even in their death throes, sucking in numerous gullible punters along the way.

Most de-rampers are simply immature mischief makers and can be treated with the contempt they deserve. The compensation is knowing that they lead such sad, directionless lives that they spend their days posting on a forum with nothing to gain other than trying to antagonise genuine holders.

Inevitably, there is at least one former holder who having crystallised a considerable loss, expresses disdain both at Val and all current holders. While empathising at his loss, it was his decision to invest and to my knowledge no-one coerced him into investing. Historically, many holders have lost money in Val but past performance is exactly that. I remain very optimistic for the future and have increased my holding significantly to reflect that stance.

We also have a resident trader who has made significant gains in the past manipulating the SP. At least his criticism or ramping is with a clear objective in mind so while his constant changes in viewpoint may be annoying, that is how he has made money historically. Thankfully, the volume of shares held fast now renders this approach ineffective.

I hope this provides some justification, certainly regarding my own position, for defending my investment against unsolicited criticism, 90% of which is based on a model of Valirx which no longer exists. There is no comparison whatsoever between the current Company and that which existed prior to Mark E’s tenure as I am confident will become evident over the coming months.

Mark E has not yet been in position for one year yet Val has been transformed in his tenure. He inherited a chronic financial situation yet gained support for a placing and has been joined by two other key SHs who have full confidence in Val’s direction. The warrants potentially could give a significant boost to the coffers and are now within reach on further good news.

Our CEO spent the first few months analysing the company’s strengths and where improvements/savings could be made. He has now assembled his own team and given clear direction to future activity. No more long-term projects with little prospect of imminent income. When tough decisions need to be made, he will not shirk. TRX were given every opportunity to complete but declined Mark’s conditions. Goodbye!

His commitment is faultless, whether from a personal investment or work ethic perspective. There can be few harder working CEOs on the AIM. His presentations are professional and informative, a significant factor in attracting potential partners or investors.

He recognises CLX as being the future of Val and is currently adding further value in Inaphaea using our own PDCs. Multiple partners are using their own areas of expertise to supplement Val’s flagship project.

An all-encompassing prostate SPV is imminent with 201 at the forefront. Extensions to patents are being prepared. We also know there has been interest from Taiwan. Extended patents could be a factor putting that aspect temporarily on hold.

A StingRay update is already overdue. If 401 is a guideline, the delay could be promising.

The recent Advisory Board chaired by Cathy has a heavy weighting towards veterinary science in the appointments of Dr Robles and Dr Wheeler. In his recent presentations Mark has clearly identified this field as a potential gold-mine. He should know, he made $26m for Volition just by producing a dog tumour TEST. Imagine what a novel drug could command.

There are several reasons why Mark sees major opportunities in this field to supplement existing research:

1) Existing compounds can be adapted from human use

2) Relaxed FDA requirements for animal testing

3) Many cancers in dogs (eg Lymphoma & breast) are similar to humans, so research overlaps

4) Pet patients can be excellent surrogates for human patients particularly children, in testing and development

5) The US requires all oncology drug developers to have a strategy for developing drugs for children. Trials in children are difficult so the “comparative” oncology approach (in dogs) is ideal.

6) Testing timescales are almost halved so potential income is much quicker

Phase 2 (in vivo) human testing for safety and efficacy (effectiveness) is eliminated. However, should the drug be successful in the veterinary field, with patent protection it could then undergo the required phase 2 testing and be extended into the human arena.

It is clear that our CEO is building a Company for the future. Exciting times for all holders

According to Pink Nick, the BDM also enjoys going on jollies with his CEO drinking buddy.

So, there we have it! Viera presumably crossed swords with Mark T while in brokerage and is now using multiple posts to spit his dummy out. He will have an opportunity to raise his £120k BDM issue at the AGM. I’m confident our CEO will shoot that claim down for once and for all and help Pink Nick sleep at night.

Far too many shares are now held in sticky fingers and a 25% spread means Val is no longer a trading share for the likes of Pink Nick. Obviously, a traumatic experience for him. Time to forget his petty differences and move on to pastures new.
