Today's RNS2 Mar 2026 14:34
This RNS is not a standalone event — it’s the culmination of a strategy ValiRx has been quietly assembling for over a year. The pieces have been laid out methodically, and today another one clicks into place.
MARCH ‘25 -Val RNS’s a new Advisory Board chaired by Cathy Tralau Stewart, with two key veterinary figures: Dr Heather Wilson Robles, former President of the Veterinary Cancer Society and Dr Simon Wheeler, ex Novartis Ventures, specialising in veterinary investments. Since then, Dr Sheuli Porkess and Dr David Montgomery have joined, strengthening both scientific and commercial expertise. The AB was explicitly created to explore how ValiRx could leverage all its assets including human preclinical data for earlier access to the vet market.
JUNE - An RNS confirms Cytolytix and Omios to begin evaluating whether CLX001 enhances Omios’s next generation oncolytic viruses. The evaluation runs up to 12 months, after which Omios has an option to license the technology. In the June webinar, Mark explained that Omios’s tumour vasculature targeting virus could also be applied to dogs, specifically referencing Hemangiosarcoma (HSA), a metastatic cancer of the cells that line blood vessels eventually causing them to rupture - a major unmet need in veterinary oncology.
DECEMBER - In the Dec webinar, Mark was openly discussing developing CLX for the veterinary market, and confirmed that evaluation costs and the new SPV setup were ring fenced from the recent placing.
JANUARY ’26 -This LinkedIn post ahead of JPM reinforced the importance of Omios, with meetings lined up with CEO Aldo Pourchet as the evaluation approaches its June decision point: “Finally, there’s another great opportunity to showcase CLX and have meetings lined up with our partner Omios Bio so looking forward to catching up with CEO Aldo Pourchet.”
MARCH - Today’s RNS confirms “The Vet Oncology market was estimated at $1.58b in 2024 and is projected to hit nearly $4.86b by 2034”. Mark already has history here, with Volition selling a dog tumour test (Nu.Q) for $28m. At what valuation a cure?
Consistent with Mark’s 2026 SPV milestones, today’s RNS confirms that Val Animal Health aims for non dilutive funding, with specialist veterinary VC funds already approached. Taken together, the Advisory Board, Omios collaboration, webinar disclosures, and now the creation of Val Animal Health show a clear, deliberate strategy: accelerate development, derisk human programmes, open earlier revenue channels, and expand into a rapidly growing market. Today’s RNS isn’t a surprise - it’s the next logical piece of a well constructed plan.
