It won't be life changing for me, because as soon as it hits 20-24p i'm selling every AIM share I have and hopefully BPC will recoup all my 'investments' on AIM.

There is no reason why the SP won't climb to at least 20p this month just on the basis of assumption, just like it did in 2011 when I bought at 20p !

This share like all my AIM shares over the past ten years have been a bit of a green rub for me. But nice to see some booty oppos on this board. Hopefully, we can soon have sippers, gulpers and sandy bottoms if the SP rises.

Hi Degsy, the annoying thing is that oil exploration costs the BG zero, and if oil is found they benefit to the point that their debts will be wiped out and they will benefit financially in a considerable manner. The oil rigs will be nearer Cuba than the Bahamas, so no fear of oil arriving on a Bahamas beach. It's a no-brainer, so why is the EA taking so long. Why doesn't the BG say "Hurry up and get on with it". The Bahamas uses diesel engines for its electrical supply. An oil refinery is being built and has more chance of spilling oil than our oil rigs 100 miles away from the nearest Bahamas beach. Without doubt, the EA is holding up the farm-in.

The BG should issue the EA as soon as possible because it will need lots of money to guard their tourism industry against the rising waters which will flood their beaches. According to climatic reports the Bahamas is significantly at risk because it is low lying. one-third of the Bahamas’ hotels and airports, and 90 per cent of its ports, would be placed “at risk” by a one-metre sea level rise induced by climate change.
And, in just over eight years, it predicted that climate change impacts could be costing the Bahamas and its economy anywhere between $240 million to $480 million annually - figures that increase to $310 million to $620 million by 2050.
They need money. Oil is their only option at the moment.

It's the BG that's holding everything up by not issuing the EA.

Or if the BG has not given or will not give the EA in the immediate future. This the main reason that the SP has not risen to its original 43p in 2004 and 20p when I bought in 2011.

There won't be any news on the major until the EA has been approved. That's what the major is waiting for and the reason why it may take 3 to 6 months to get it. I suspect that the major has already put the deal together or decided not to deal. Only the end of the three months will we know that if the major doesn't extend the exclusivity. that's why the SP hasn't rocketed - No EA, no deal announced and no idea when it may or may not happen. We are all taking a risk and the BPC BOD are taking a risk too. It's all down to the BG to get their act together and give the green light for a drill. The drill site is a hundred miles away from the Bahamas so it should get passed if the BG wants to do something for their people like Guyana, Suriname, Trinida & Tobago ( oil revenue is about 34% of GDP), Jamaica and Cuba. That is exactly my problem with this exclusivity deal. Africa petroleum had an exclusivity deal but without a monthly payment. The deal was annulled due to the particular government that would not accept the deal. The major was not named. However, with BPC, the major and the banker in the deal, then I am assuming that the BG will not turn down the opportunity to get rid of their debts and provide lots of work and the chance to start new businesses for the Bahamas population. The major must be in the top ten oil companies or the BG would not authorize the AE. The deal will be agreed by the four parties within the given six months of exclusivity.

Although i'm still cautious i'm really happy to see my share value on a breakeven now. i really hope the SP doubles which will break even all my other AIM shares. As soon as I reach breakeven on my portfolio, I'm out and will be really pleased to get my money back after ten years of rubbish.

You're right, Tatts. I still remember African Petroleum that had an exclusive deal with a major and the government they were dealing with refused to let them drill.
However, with BPC I think that Mr Potter is almost sure that the BG will give them the EA but at the moment nothing is sure. It is still a major gamble.

The major is paying because it knows the identities of the other majors who are interested. This major is paying to stop Mr Potter making deals with any other major. Therefore the deal between bpc and the major is, in principle, done. The only reason we are waiting is the BG authorising the EA. I don't know why the BG is taking it's time. There are only two reasons. 1) the BG cancels oil drilling. 2) the BG has another major trying to sneak in behind BPC's back. All IMHO, of course.

The rns means there is no EA and no deal yet. The rns is not positive to me and the negative point is also reflected in the sells. I' topped up and got my average down to 6 p. I cannot believe the BG is taking so long to make a single decision for their benefit. Not to mention the 300k population.

I had 120,000 valued at 5kGBP After dilution I now have 480 shares worth 10 quid. the shares have to rise to 10 GBP each just to break even. I know oily shares are a gamble, but this BOD is making nice salaries and not producing anything. I will never, ever forget the 'glowing in the dark' statement which was totally rubbish. The new drill ship had problems and couldn't drill to the foreseen depth and this stupid BOD actually paid Repsol for the privilege of testing the ship.
