Going thro' my various financial sources & came across this re: BlackRock. Please forgive, if a different fund - however they do hold 0.47% Aricom [ORE] Quote:
"BlackRock UK Absolute Alpha fund has also taken money hand-over-fist recently, with the company now reassuring investors that performance will be maintained. Managed by Citywire AA-rated Mark Lyttleton, the fund has grown from £200 million to £1.2 billion in the past year, with questions inevitably raised about his ability to both allocate new money successfully and scale up his investment approach. The inflows have been due to Lyttleton’s performance, returning 16.4pc over the year to the end of June versus a 13pc fall registered by the FTSE All-Share. BlackRock said that the business had designed the fund with plenty of spare capacity, and the capability to trade investments on a large scale. Financial advisers continued to voice concern however, with Tim Cockerill, head of fund research at Rowan Capital Management, warning that finding returns would become harder. The cost of shorting – selling borrowed shares in the expectation their price will fall, and then buying them back cheaper and at a profit – would become more expensive as the economic outlook deteriorated he said, with an inevitable impact on fund performance."
