Any idea why GENL is down over 3% and GKP is still flying?
Thanks both. This is promising.
Anyone know who he is?
It's a paltry million. Some of you must have way more than that with your constant top ups.
Good point. Interesting that the great and good don't always get it right. Out today:
Goldman Sachs raises ContourGlobal price target to 211 (208) pence - 'neutral'
Funny how "good" news can sometimes be disappointing! GLO was 3.6% of my investments and I was mulling over selling some of my oilies and adding to GLO. I should have mulled a bit harder! Still a sizeable profit is not to be sneezed at and there are more fish in the sea. My immediate thought is adding to my BATS, but I will check out Trek's recommendations (thanks Trek).
Well, I'd be a bit miffed if I owned 16% of the company and had my representative kicked off the board. I think you're right; there's a story in there somewhere.
Seems odd that one of the ousted NEDs, Hassan Gozal, is chairman of one of the biggest shareholders - Daax Corp FZE.
I'm absolutely shocked and very disappointed. Bill seemed a very straightforward and trustworthy person. I loved the simple business model of generating cash and handing it to the shareholders. May have to re-assess my investment.
With Brent around $125, the share price makes absolutely no sense unless the market believes that we are going to have serious problems squeezing payments out of the KRG. I'm nervous that there is some intel that ordinary PIs are unaware of. Role on 15 March when the situation should become clear for all.
I think that very harsh. I'd much prefer the management working hard to grow the business (which they are doing), rather than getting obsessed with the share price. Patience is difficult in times like these, but if the business continues to grow, the share price must eventually grow too.
Strange how it can be 'neural' when it's price target is 60% higher than it is now.
Nice story on Reuters on Somaliland and Taiwan :
https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/somaliland-pitches-huge-oil-gas-potential-during-taiwan-trip-2022-02-09/
Not much detail, but could help generate investor interest in our developments there.
What's happening? Don't wish to complain (!!!) but this shouldn't be happening without news
Not sure why you're all getting your knickers in a twist about this. Journalist have to write stuff to fill their papers and MM has given him an open goal with his petulant behaviour. Key section for me is:
"The actions prompt two questions. Does THG have something to hide? And wouldn’t Moulding be better off proving the doubters wrong by making sure the business outperforms?"
Should be easy for MM to sort these questions out - he should just stop being weird.
Nice move so far today off back of the RNS and oil price. Obviously we would be flying if the KRG would actually make their payments, but patience is a virtue!
Fordy, nobody likes being long and wrong (I certainly don't). However, there's no point being angry about it. If you really think this is a POS stock, just sell and forget about it. No point stewing in your bitterness - just move on.
I wonder if the same words in the call had been spoken southern accents, with a bit more "oxbridge confidence", the share price might be travelling in the opposite direction.
"If results are poor then on the 18th this stock could be as cheap as a squid." - and I guess we're not talking a sick squid?
Nice little bump so far today. I can't see any news, so is just reflecting oil price and market coming to its senses?
