I was quite happy with the presentation. I'm not going to rush out and buy any more shares, but I'm feeling more reassured that these guys have got a plan - the #500m isn't burning a hole in their pockets but they know they need to do something with it (and that something isn't a buy-back). Frustratingly light on detail, but I can understand that.

According to today's news, JPMorgan raises Genel Energy price target to 181 (172) pence - 'neutral'

Not sure how they can be 'neutral' if they are targeting a near 50% price increase. I'd be very happy if they were right.

Personally, I think it is a great little oil company - it's found oil and extracts it efficiently from a very inhospitable part of the world. It sells the oil at a vast profit and gives much of this back to the shareholders.

Is it worth 120p? This is totally dependent on your appetite for risk. With a current divi over 12% and a P/E below 5.5, it appears to be an absolute steal. Of course, this is balanced by the significant political risk.

I get what you're saying - what's the point of a hefty dividend if the share price is constantly depreciating. Investing is never easy! I think patience will be rewarded

Many of you castigated Oliver Shah for expressing doubts over THG's valuation in the Sunday Times many moons ago. Well I wish I'd heeded his advice.

I still think there is a good business in THG, but Moulding is no longer the man to run it. Whilst the golden share exists, I cannot see the share price going anywhere but down. Hope I am wrong!

I'm very disappointed by the static dividend and I share your concern that the current senior execs don't have the skillset to expand the business. I would love to see a merger with GKP (which I also hold) to create a real powerhouse in the region. Sadly, I can't see it happening.

Share price is clearly reacting to the fall in CMC. Could be a good time to top up - unfortunately I did so yesterday :(

UK is not perfect, but it's wrong to constantly beat our selves up. If you want an objective view on international levels of corruption, check out https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2021 You will see the UK is one of the least corrupt countries. Interesting that our most promising region for diversification, Somaliland, is very nearly bottom and we all know where Kurdistan would feature.

That said, the recent smash and grab windfall tax on UK energy firms shows that the UK market also has its uncertainties!

Every message board has paranoid posters who scream 'manipulation' every time the share price doesn't go their way. GKP is having a fantastic run and paying fantastic dividends - just enjoy it. As for "I do realise the UK is one of the most corrupt economies in the world" - what utter garbage, you should be ashamed.

I would have hoped that GENL would have got a bit of a boost from being promoted to the MSCI UK Small Cap Index (with GKP) with effect from end of business today.

This should increase the demand from some passive funds, but it doesn't seem to be happening! Perhaps they will leave till late in the day?
