Is anyone holding Critical Metals?
I was just doing a comparison between CRTM and GLR as the companies are both currently valued at £14m and CRTM has recently started mining copper in DRC. It owns 70% of the mine which it forecasts will produce 120k tonnes of copper oxide ore per annum which will be sold to local processing plants. As far as I can see the ore isn't being upgraded at the mine site but simply dug out the ground and trucked to a local plant. I think that is it's only project at the moment. It's quite an interesting comparison.

The Q4 results were excellent and now there's some extra cash in the kitty should the company need it.
The market dislikes uncertainty and that has been removed. Now is the time to sit back and relax and countdown the days to Kouroussa production. Not long to wait now!
If anyone has and doubts about the ability of the company to pay down the debt taken on to build the Kouroussa mine then I suggest you review the data. It is a very high grade open pit mine with a high IRR and fast payback time. Barring a collapse in the gold price (I'm expecting new all-time highs) the debt will be paid down very quickly with 2 mines in production

So that's around $20m pre-tax profit attributable to GLR's 75% interest at the current $9000/tonne copper price assuming the production rate of 600k tonne per annum of ore in the RNS. Obviously could be much higher if the copper price takes off as expected

Going by the figures quoted in the JORC report, open pit mining will be very high margin with a pre-tax profit margin of around 70% including G&A. That's at a copper price of $9000/tonne and there could be some very considerable upside from that price given the demand v supply outlook for the metal

The average spot price of gold in Q4 was $1726 which almost exactly what HUM reported. Obviously the average price a producer realises depends on when it made sales during the quarter

Best quarterly results for a long time and Q1 is expected to be similar and we are already over a month into Q1

Share price action suggests AB has made progress on the arbitration settlement in DRC.
Like VAST it will show as a pickup in volume and price prior to an announcement and interview

Yes, very solid update. Happy with that and hopefully the company will beat it's target again of 200k tonnes this year

According to previous auctions, Zimbabwean diamonds normally fetch about US$400 per carat, although this can rise to as much as US$12 000 per carat.

I suggest you do some research in the current average price of diamonds per carat.
Even if you assume a low price per carat, 129,400 carats are worth many multiples of the current VAST market cap

It all reads well from a sales point so disappointing to see how much cash is being burnt.
The interims showed a cash position of £16.1m which has reduced to £5.1m at year end which will include around £2m raised from Riverfort ($2.5m). The cashburn has accelerated to £13m in the last 6 months so likely to see more borrowed from the Riverfort facility.
I'd like to see more clarity about the margins the company is making on the recent sales and when the company is likely to become cashflow positive or at least give an indication of how the cash burn will be reduced.

I think the fact the company still hasn't released a Q3 production update is another big red flag

Price action looks very positive.
If the company meets guidance I think we'll see an explosive move higher driven by the tailwind of a rising gold price and the prospect of the run-rate of HUM's gold production to more than double in just a few months time as Kouroussa comes on stream at just the right time

Note how there's no mention anymore of a phase 3 trial.
It's clearly going back to the phase 2 trial stage if anyone is willing to fund that. Even if it does commence it will take many years to get Lupuzor to market even if everything goes well which is unlikely given previous track record

Barrick could also be interested in the projects in Cameroon. ORR'S CEO worked for Barrick for several years so is well connected there so likely the first port of call.
I'm also invested in ARCM whose CEO worked at Anglo American for many years. Now ARC is in the process of finalizing a very large JV with Anglo. I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar scenario play out here

I think Managem, the buyer of IAMGOLD's assets in Senegal, will be very keen to get the Boto mine built as soon as possible. That's great news for Oriole as gold ore from the south of the Senala licence could be processed at the Boto plant. Fare is hopefully large enough to justify building a separate plant. IAMGOLD was slow in making progress as it was focused on building its Cote mine in Canada. The new owner is larger and better funded than IAMGOLD and is focused on projects in Africa.

Another possible outcome is that IAMGOLD's interest in Senala reverts back to Oriole as there has been a change in control of the JV partner. I obviously don't know the terms of the original JV contract.

Also it's quite likely Managem will want to buyout ORR's interest in Senala.

Any of these potential outcomes is positive for Oriole

The buyout was announced by IAMGOLD yesterday so I asked about the implications for Oriole and got a brief reply.
It's definitely positive for the company and will lead to various options. IAMGOLD has been looking to sell the assets for a while as it is concentrating on bringing a mine into operation in Canada
