Catching up so apologies if I have missed some of the threads; but my post is around the musings on here about NEM potentially changing their minds around divestment of Hav and Telfer.
IMHO they are not likely to change their minds. Sandeep may well have been and almost certainly WAS playing games in the 5% option stand-off, for example; however as others have said, we are not yet a Tier 1 (tho I believe we have the potential to become one ) and NEM have bigger fish currently to fry; need some readies post acquisition of Newcrest; and in Telfer they see a huge liability and are not 'agile' enough as a company to waste their time on it and a deep and as yet small new discovery (relatively speaking)
We will go for the lot if the BOD and SD have their way and become an agile mid tier miner and explorer. If Winu and other satellites eventually feed Telfer and we get new strike/s then SD WILL become Prince of the Paterson, and the gold price, the copper value , the cost savings in being a leaner operation and the conversion rate of our find at 86% and the net profits of having copper, amongst other minerals, will lend itself to future major profitability.
There will likely be many road bumps along the way, so I don't think it will be quick or easy. However, if it comes off we will all eventually be 'better' off.

Well , I have just caught up with Liams interview with Callum !
Well played Liam and I’ll be thanking you directly for your input here .
So many takeaways to underline the value proposition and the investment potential here ! It is a very pleasing interview and though it’s been done to death it’s helped put a glossier long term outlook on all the uncertainty that surrounds and has surrounded us for some time here : so I’m going to repeat our future prospects which could feasibly play out in between the next 3-5 years !
- Callum is still heavily invested and believes this is a cheap investment opportunity for new investors right now ( ie the only way is up !)
- “Greatland s one of the best gold investments in London at the moment. Particularly on AIM”
- the highs of current gold price can only help our value proposition
- examine the Lassonde Curve ( is he believes in it and we’re on it and at production stage the SP will escalate )
- If we can buy Telfer it’s a great vehicle to min8ng Havieron plus satellite deposits all around
- there’s a lot of smoke around Scallwag ( ie I’m hoping my Scallywag will come home one day )
- ditto Ernest Giles
- we have ROLR- ( ie if the price is right it’s ours and it’s financially achievable)
- our BOD( ie speaks for itself !)
Havieron is too good not to mine ( up your Sandeep Newmont and Newcrest )
- there are multiple investors plus pension funds waiting on the sidelines ( ie come ASX)
I could go on but we’ve done it to death.
My view … now a 3-5 year win win win win !
Congratulations Magic! Kudos to you for achieving that. Can’t bring myself to call you Dr Magic tho …. Has vibes of pornstar mixed with a dating maestro to it !lol!
And having met you you are far classier than that !
Well done! Good luck in your career pathway ahead !

Happy IWD to all of the women investors on here and to the blokes and to the 'whichever denomination you choose to call yourselves' ,and to some of the big girl's blouses that pop in and out of here depending on what destructive rumours they can spread or disruption!
GLA & Happy Investing.
We are about to enter into a whole new world for GGP if SD and the Board get their way! Strap in......
Greetings.
Recently, Newmont Mining tookover Australia’s biggest gold-copper miner Newcrest Mining to acquire a number of big significant mines that Newcrest operated. In that deal, Newmont also inherited a number of other mines and projects that were to small to meet Newmont’s definition of Tier 1 mines (mines that produce over 500,000 ounces of gold equivalent per year) which meant that at some point Newmont would put those mines/projects up for sale to raise money that would go towards paying down debt and cost of acquisition.
Yesterday Newmont announced it’s intention to do just that announcing they would be selling 6 different mines in various countries – one of which included the Telfer Mine and their nearby 70% in their joint venture with Greatland Gold at their Havieron Project where Greatland 6 years ago made a very significant new gold-copper discovery which saw Newcrest enter into their joint venture partnership. In that joint venture agreement, if Newcrest (or another company that takes over Newcrest) chooses to sell their 70% interest in that project, Greatland Gold retains a right of first refusal to match any offer.
I called and spoke with Greatland’s CEO last night and very understandably, he has to watch what he tells me that would be considered to be inside information and all he could tell me is that Greatland would be very interested in acquiring the Telfer Mine Complex if the price was right. In my own opinion, since Newcrest has told the world that since Telfer is a 40 year old mine and is running out of ore to mine in a few years, that mine is more of a liability than an asset so is not worth very much on its own.
My prediction is that Greatland Gold and Newmont will negotiate a deal whereby Greatland buys the Telfer Mine Complex along with Newmon’t 70% in the Havieron project and then Greatland will develop the Havieron deposit and transport that ore to the nearby Telfer Mine Complex for processing turning Greatland into the next significant gold – copper producer.
The last few years have seen Greatland Gold greatly strengthen their board of directors and management along with gaining the backing of Australia’s Twiggy Forrest as their largest shareholder (he founded and grew Australia’s largest iron ore mining company, Fortescue) so this team is fully capable of growing Greatland into a producer of significance.
It would be pointless to lay out again all the reasons 'why' it is now decision time for GGP holders because most possible scenarios have been mooted here several times over; but as yet, none of us know the future pathway for certain. We can only surmise.
Costs using debt facilities and equity distribution and partnerships etc etc need to be worked out and worked on. It is only after this has been laid out that we will know just how long the ride will be for at this juncture as profitability will depend on it.
However, this is certainly the most exciting news we could have had, even if by default, with NEM divesting of both assets against some investors wishes here.
For myself, in this case, I am beyond excited to see an opportunity for SD and his accomplished to prove their worth now but expect a bumpy, perhaps costly, and short-term hair-raising ride en route to a much bigger slice of the pie and perhaps ALL of said pie!
It is the only way I can see to my £1 albeit a lot longer-term than I had originally anticipated when we hit that false high of 38p back in the day!
There is nothing false about owning a gold mine or 2 or 3 if another strike in the few years to come.
It is decision time for any of us who don't want to stay on a rollercoaster ride any longer. For me, I am strapping in. No pain no gain and I wait with interest to see what evolves in the short -term. We will no doubt find out very soon, as the news is out !
GLA!
Well, this is interesting isn't it?!
There were many on here who were adamant that Newmont would never divest of Havieron or Telfer. And, despite Shaun's most recent talk around the fact that it was an unlikely event etc; here we are!
Poker? Chess? Surprise move? We may never know.
However I do believe SD will be making many moves to get the edge on this announcement and we will hope it is in our best interest.
Think he once uttered the words that it would be a golden opportunity if it came off...or he would be 'delighted' to have the whole pie. Or in other similar words etc.
Maybe now we know for sure why the super board and circle of steel was assembled in his directors choice and in his funding stand -bys? Maybe a much much longer play here..but might be the only way we eventually get our £1 party?
Let's see what happens next! I am still in in for the long term...and looks like it will be! And I am hoping worth the wait albeit a probably bumpy road to riches along this golden mile longer stretch now!
GLA!
And it’s not 7.5 odd pennies !!
Leaks by default trickle through cracks !!
If there’s a crack and there’s been a decision made that creates any real substance …. We would not be sat here !!
SD himself when we have talked has said in the event of a takeover the SP would normally spiral up rapidly.
If you are seeing something I’m not please share !
So …. In a nutshell then:
- SD positive and upbeat
- Newmont great partners in a gold venture
- no likely buyout in the near future
- DTM just a matter of time
- sunset close will kick in post fs in the unlikely event the giants don’t wish to mine Havieron
- EG LIGHTS UP LIKE A XMAS TREEE IN THE GEOPHYSICS
could catalyst number 2 be on its way ?
GLA!
Well....no point in arguing over this right now cos it is still many more than 6 foot under in Oz currently!
When it sees the light of day it will be 'legally' partly ours and in an ISA it will be untouchable ....so let's just focus on getting it out!
A random observation but I like movies and watched one about a heist the other night and it featured crypto , nfts and so on and great big solid shiny bars of gold !
They were after the gold with the comment that took my fancy which was :
‘Always go for gold mate ! Solid , beautiful , unhackable and untraceable !’
Hhhmmmm. Now let’s just get it out!!
GLA!
Hi Peter,
I looked in as really busy at the moment and saw that our broker dropped our outlook forecast and at the moment given the deflating consistently, it doesn't sit well.
Our real outlook and fundamentals are superb.....100% and it would be good to see that reflected and some consistency maintained. We are in real danger of a lowball offer at these prices and noone wants to see that. We have a fabulous team onboard who should bat that out of court,,,but I don't even want to see it on the table.
The sooner we get on ASX and get bigger institutions keeping us from this perma-volatility the better.
I will hold for many more years if I need to as I believe in this and love the growth trajectory it could offer. However, I cannot keep saying it's time to top up each time theres a derailment and I'm sure many don't have the means to do that in any event.
Onwards & Upwards! That's the way forwards.

Well I'm not at all happy if Berenberg have decreased their outlook SP?
I have a lot already invested in here and have very high hopes for our future prospects and don't take kindly to seeing that if it is the case whoever they might be, they are still visible to investors new and old!
As for constantly topping up, then good if you wish to but I think I would personally prefer us to be valued where we deserve to be and certainly not at 12p!
This constant dipping on good news is both irritating and depressing. Hope SD shines a light on positive future catalysts soon!
This uncertainty in the market is doing us no good at all. AIMHO and looking for 2024 to bring us new uplift catalysts that speak to the wider market, not just us LTH's! We need new blood investing, as well as all of us buying more if we can and want to.
Time to move up not make excuses for why we are down!
Thanks Tigger.
I’ve now watched your YouTube link and it’s worth watching to once again remind ourselves of the curve and investment key points.
I think with GGP the hype was so great in 2020 for various reasons , that many investors got caught out.
A lot of us didn’t sell at peak due to that and also due to our faith in the ultimate rise in due course of this company , especially given its new super team.
However , it has been in free fall for a long time now and I’m impressed with those of you who continually take it on the chin as though it’s a given
I have held. Not sold a bean. And do believe in the future prospects ; but I admit go feeling pain and disappointment at the extended run of below double digits SP and I don’t mind admitting it. It’s painful . The MRE was never going to be in double digits. Shaun more or less alerted us to that at this stage. Some didn’t wish to hear it and many pin their hopes on just one catalyst.
It will take more than that.
We watch and wait.
Slowly slowly. Buckle up.
