Prionace. Your anger & frustration at not getting out of this in time makes you think i'm gloating. I only had a few grand punt money in this one & bailed with a couple grand profit, so no great cause celebre. Anyone who punted loads on this over the last week deserves no sympathy as they were fuelled by pure greed. I got out because common sense told me there was no way the divi would be paid. When things seem too good to be true they usually are & that is the case here! I do sympathise with the longer term holders here who've been truly shafted. This is the stock market not play school. Take it on the chin & learn from your mistakes!!

Prionace, you obviously got stung here & have some issues. I'm just stating my views. I have been invested in here & may well again once the storm passes. As far as i see it everyone had a chance to get out of this one at mid 90s this morning which after the pulling of the dividend would have probably been the best move. I guess greed took over!

i don't think anyone's doomed here. Company is still a going concern & hugely profitable. People will just have their invested cash frozen & inaccessible for an indeterminant length of time.

Thankfully i got out of here in the nick of time @102 yesterday. Was actually thinking of buying back this morning but then all the crap started hitting the news so i thought better of it. I imagine this will drag on for a long long time. I been in Petrofac for a while & they only recently had SFO off their back after nearly 5 years of investigation which trashed the SP. Obviously these are different circumstances but once FCA et al get their claws in i don't believe there will be any speedy resolution here!

Legin, the price will come down as market forces will push it down. Huge numbers of people were buying into this on the basis of a 37p dividend. The debate on here raged for days as to whether it would be paid. I had fully expected that RNS to drop on Monday but it didn't. It now has & the inference is there won't be dividends here for a while at least. Personally i'd probably buy back here now between 50-70p but anything above is too risky for the short term at least.

The pension funds won't be though. With it dropping from the FTSE100 (might drop even below FTSE250) status. All funds will be out of this in the coming days. i cannot see any positives to invest here atm!

Forget about dividends here for a couple of years now assuming the war ends soon. A £1 stock will not be paying the same div as a £7 stock!

When Looney played around with the divi at BP (August 2020 if i recall) the SP began a monumental drop from 360 all the way down to 188. All the pension funds bailed out as it was a mainstay of their funds being a solid income bearer. That is what i expect will happen here. The incentive to buy in here has now evaporated for everyone. Yes the fundamentals are good etc but with the war situation who knows when things will get back to normal. I'll probably avoid this one for now unless the SP really drops as i can see no reason for any rises anytime soon. The notion that the divi payment not being paid is ok because the company still has the money is a wonderfully quaint notion but in reality from a short term SP perspective everyone knows that is BS. This will drop hard tomorrow!

It only surged up this afternoon because peeps clambering to get in for that divi. Will drop like a lead balloon on open tomorrow!

Well, i bought these @57p with promise of a 37p divi & it went down to 50p that day. Will be see 20s tomorrow???

i sold the lot @102 & was kickin myself as it sailed over 110. Bit happier now. Will throw the cash back in tomoz. Should get sub 50p i'd say now!

i think the best way to summarise that argument is 'the divi payment is already baked into the prevailing SP'.

Yep in the end we're all taking a risk here with our cash. Personally i think tomorrow will follow the same pattern as today. i.e. rise up to around a £1 in the morning then down again PM. who knows really. I'm looking to grab some Poly cheap in the morning. Trried to get some this afternoon but same buying issues there too!

not necessarily Lodan. Depends on the news/sentiment etc which is constantly changing. It could drop by the divi amount. It could drop further or less. Or, it could rise if there was a big announcement. Peace deal etc!

Mr Stix, please explain why a ban on oil/gas exports from Russia impacts a global steel manufacturer like Evraz?? Reality is Biden's actions hit you & i at the fuel pumps & on our domestic bills more than it impacts Evraz!
