BB, No company is under any obligation to respond to speculation at all! hearsay & tittle tattle are part of the workings of the market. An RI rumour was always likely given the EZJ situation. The focus of the IAG BoD is running the day to day business as best they can. Intraday SP movements are not the concern of an executive board. If the CEO & board choose to make an official statement it is their decision & noone elses!

Totally agree Teddy. No call for these lowlife eejits. I bought a few shares in Helium1 (AIM stock) when it tanked couple weeks back. There was a newbie on the bb there who'd lost all his savings in it & was suicidal. Couple of twats on that board were goading the poor fella. disgraceful behaviour!

BB i would imagine they would not want to publicly admit or deny the rumour as the situation is very fluid regarding changes to travel restrictions etc. My view is they haven't ruled it out completely but haven't decided to go ahead with it yet either. To make an official announcement & then renege on it would leave them with a whole lot of egg on their face!

Well, if they were going to do it, they would have said so & if they weren't going to do it they would have said so too. Who cares really. If you believe in the future of IAG just buy more , buy the rights or if you think it's going bust, sell them. Simples really!

I remember nearly buying MCRO @210, Cine @24, SGC@32. you gotta be in it to win it. I think all those shares will boom up over the next few months tbh!

Trev, they go up & down in tandem with the normal SP. I don't give advice as such but what i am doing at the moment is just waiting. Not selling or adding. I personally don't think there will be a RI. The recent IAG drops are just following the travel industry negative trend. Nothing huge in the drops here. Look at RR, Nex SGC. All down quite a bit as well. If a RI came along i would take up the rights. This share will come good a lot sooner than people think!

JG, The markets have been rubbish last 3 months or so. I'm also down a fair bit on most of my stuff but in fairness most of the paper loss is actually some decent profits from early part of the year reinvested. I think shares like cine, nex will all come good. I got a big holding in Hoc & well down there too!

Trev21. If a R|I occurs, as a holder you have a few options you can buy the extra shares, sell the rights or do nothing. If the RI is announced you will hold 'nil paid rights'. These are traded on the market like a normal share & are subject to market fluctuations. That market stays open until the RI closes & all the shares are issued. You can also opt to 'swallowtail' which is selling some of your existing holding to fund buying the rights on the remainder. All returns are dictated by market prices at the time. It is not adviseable to do nothing as you would hold your shares (now diluted) with little benefit although some broker platforms automatically sell your rights for you if you don't give any other instructions!

this will be way over £3 by xmas. I seen this sorting game all over the place, Bab****, Melrose, RR etc. Opportunity to make cash if you time it well. NEX is a great company. Look at last trading statement. Absolute gem of a share!

Personally, i've never known a broker target to be of any significance in reality. They affect the SP yes. why? i've no idea. They never seem to call it right! bit of a nuisance that's all really!

i got 10k of these @ 280. did have 20k@280 but sold half @285 after couple days as thought was too heavy in on it! This will be back there though. Bit annoying being underwater but this company is actually performing well!

it's just being shorted down. Once the short decides to let this one go you'll see a huge rise here. Just watch how this one goes. My bet is they'll take it to about 200 then reversal!

I think if a RI were announced now it's a bit naughty really. 6 weeks back they announced strong liquidity position of £10bn+ A RI so soon after that would just strike me as sheer incompetence!

if this went to 70p i'd remortgage the house to load up here!

BB sometimes it's better to switch off & not look at intraday pricing. If you're not a day trading type & are a bedwetting type, just come back in 6 months when the sp will be back over £2!

Lots of unwarranted panic. It's a 2% drop! look at the wider market FFS. Some people shouldn't be in this shares game if they're wetting their nappies over this one. Shares can fall 30-40% in a day & be back up again a few days later. Just relax. IAG is a well solid, sound investment. Don't let the doomslayers rob you of your hard earned cash. This will be back up again!

Lots of shares are now at bargain prices. This is load up time. Anyone who was in on the shares stuff last year before vaccines will know there is some serious cash to be made buying these shares at these bargain levels!
