Good point. However there has been no 10 year period where the stock market has lost money.

I do agree with you Fender that is important to be able to sell rather than stubbornly hang on. I always sell mine after 12 months, bt that stage there is usually a better share to buy.

I have bought these based on good recent momentum and a decent dividend.

I have now sold these after holding for 12 months.

I made a disappointing loss of 19%.

I was up 22% in December but in then fell 44% before recovering a little.

I've now sold, after having held for 12 months. I made 2% profit which is OK as I was down 16% at one stage (having said that I was up 34% at one stage in January, it then fell 37% before recovering a little over the last 2 months).

Since Feb 24th 2022 (date of Russian invasion of Ukraine) FXPO (Ukraine iron ore producer ) has fallen 40%

I'm holding both of them, not sure what my excuse is !

I can't believe that 24 think the price is going to be higher and only 1 thinks it will be lower. If everybody expects the results to be good then surely this will already be baked into the price? Unless you all have information that is not publically available.

Yep, a completely pointless exercise.

I've just analysed the last 14 years dividend payments for EMG and the share price movement in the 5 days prior to the dividend.
On 14 occasions the share price increased, on 14 occasions the price fell.
The average return is 0.3%.
It was too good to be true after all.
