Not defaulted as of now. Been unable to repay a loan due to circumstances beyond our control ie sanctions. POG has the money to pay but physically can't, big difference to not having the money and not paying.
Seen that buybacks are commencing, £750m to spend. Some useful inormation re buybacks and the rules regarding them in the RNS, I know there are often questions around buybacks and what a co (not just TSCO) can and can't do with them.

I would say that there were a lot of forces outside Labour's control (ie global banking crisis) that were a factor in the state of public for Nance's at that time.
The most spectacular bit, if there is a Conservative defeat at the next election, would be the sheer fact of them losing given their dominant performance in 2019.
There are plenty of places not sanctioning currently.. India, China, a lot of Arab nations. Plenty of other opportunities to sell product on if allowed. Depends what the Rgov was in return for an export licence though I guess.
Bearing in mind their inability to sell anything at the minute, through no doing of their own, however they are clearly still very productive of a product that is very much in demand, I'm too unconcerned.
4p by COP today and 10p by next week would be awesome, but maybe a little (!) on the ambitious side.
That being said, no indication of imminent existential threat to the business either even if I wouldn't rule it out.
Multibag or bust with no middle ground, and probably a very rocky ride along the way, with trading opportunities to build a larger holding or shake some free cash out of it for those brave enough or observant enough of the swings of this share.
