Think we're a week too early for fomo Friday.

Started a little slow, ended up with 1.25bn shares traded (I've checked the chart and believe this is the biggest volume day since March 2021) and a hefty gain. All thrills and spills, may it continue over the next few sessions..

Just ignore those who start making the really ridiculous claims of 50p/£1/£1.50 per share from the flow test and you'll be fine.

Need the volume churning to clear them, we've certainly got that today. 302m so far, 3mo high is 418m so well on track to beat that.

I think he keeps a lower profile than some of his predecessors, but that isn't always a bad thing. Being a prominent figure in the media can sometimes be a double edged sword on them kind of roles.

In terms of the business, the numbers are coming in and the SP is in a general rise, so can't fault that too much either.

I don't think either one of you is covering themselves in glory here.

Volume clocked 418m today, highest it's been in a good while (previous high by quite a margin was 414m before Xmas), looks like the interest is ticking up now. Placing shares can't be far off gone now, or even gone entirely?

Have we finally cleared the placing shares I wonder?

Because last time out it was a complete and utter shambles with the resulting consolidation they did with it to maintain SP.

Absolutely one to watch, as ever it's easy to get spiked on shares like that hough, maybe one to sit out for now. For the here and now, I'd imagine there are people who have made a heck of a lot of money out of the last couple of weeks on that one, hopefully some of that finds it's way here.

Issue with non food is that while it tends to have a decent margin it's generally space hungry and low volume. Core food not as high a margin but is the thinking that the volume sold will make it more profitable?

Also in the short to medium term, with the issues in the middle east, non food is susceptible to issues and delays with shipping that tend not to impact food as much.

Fallen away again in a big way today after news from sbry. All over the place at the minute.

I was going to have a punt on he1 at around 1.6 this morning and bottled it. Big mistake.

I think it may be done with it's march for now.. was hoping it would hold 292 as there looked to be a bit of support with it hanging around there for a few days but that looks to have gone.

Hopefully it doesn't drop away for too long.

If it gets to a price where you can escape with no loss I'd be overjoyed.

I think the issue with consolidation is that generally the only way SPs go afterwards is downwards. We all understand that 1m shares at 1p is the same as 10k consolidated shares at £1.

Agreed, there is money to be made here but the timing has to be right and the noise has to be shut out from those making absurd claims about hold for £1 a share and so on, be that through over excitement, or more nefarious intent.

It's back continuing it's march north now.

My view is that it has been undervalued for a considerable time due to a hangover of a lack of confidence in the co from previous leadership (ie Phil Clarke days and the accounting scandal all them years ago). That combined with share buyback, improved profitability and it holding the majority of its market share in the face of attack from discounters, at the expense of Morrisons and Asda, means it's value is rising.
