They want to buy more and as they hit 30% they have to make an offer for the whole company. They don't expect to get it (although would love it to) but have to go through the process. They can then just continue buying in the market.
Hadn't realised how far this had fallen, looks a bargain at this price so may look to pick up some more but not sure my broker can deal on Aquis
Well we've all searched high and low and found nothing yet - let us know if you find anything as if not this is just a ludicrously cheap share, growing at a rate of knots.
It will respond eventually, hopefully before March 18th but can't see how the inevitability bullish update won't wake the market up.....
Pipe, I think you've missed the point that of what they have been doing! Whilst production growth has been steady they have totally transformed the cost base / profitability/ cash flow. Note the 7% growth they quoted came about with out drilling; three years ago no drilling would have meant a reduction in production. Scads has been transformational and it is still being rolled out so further benefits to come.
Plus on top of that there are quite a few strategic opportunities that could/should land this year.
I am a big fan of what they are doing and have bought in size to reflect that - I continue to believe that this business will be very different (and at a far higher value) over a 1-2 year view (with minimal downside subject to a sensible oil price!)
That is how it worked on a previous one albeit with interactive investor - they take all the money then credit back what isn't needed
Small top up for me today taking me to a top 3 holding (14% of portfolio) - just a waiting game here as the value will out (one day!)
I never post here but just wanted to say thanks for all the high quality posts. Definitely one of the most informative boards around
It's a mixed bag over there, one thread where you can't say anything negative or you are patronised and another which is full of negativity. Neither is healthy.
My b/e is similar to yours but I do think we'll get back there and unless management do something stupid I will be holding on as still see a bright future, just taking a lot longer than expected :-(
Yep, q4 at end of the month. Results in sept I think.
Tempted by a top up down here, didn't expect it below 40p - only thing putting me of is even in good times the bod have a very cautious tone, so who knows how the q4 report will read!!
Look at the bond prices for 2022, this makes no sense. They are trading at c.85% so buyers are getting c.13% yield so why do you think the AA will be able to refinance at a lower rate??
There is a reason they fell so low and this is a punt on the BoD finding a way to get out of this mess. I think they will but my position size is such it allows for the fact that equity holders could be wiped out in the next 12 months. GLA
Oil head
If you are going to copy and post other people's comments from other boards, you should probably acknowledge it!!! Saved me a job though ??
For those with limited understanding of the corporate bond market (and why it is critical to the investment here), thoroughly recommend you sign up for this PI world webinar (or watch on catch up) as Paul Hawkins really knows his stuff

Hi JJ.
Thanks, have found the post on twitter. Shane we can't access the report....
It wasn't a 'spike' it was a rerate I assume partly due to the exchange offer and partly due to the bond buy back announcement. It will be good to fully see this confidence return to the bonds
Good post JJ. How do you know of this as I cannot find any reference to it anywhere
Thanks
Mariog
The 2022 bonds are not at pre covid levels yet as they were at 92% in Feb
I've emailed them today. Suspect I'll get a standard response as per previous but will let you know
I'd assume because Cerp valuation looked crazy in comparison to Trin. Can only assume the slide rule went over Trin too but no way the team would have been willing to sell out at anything close to these low levels.
Probably worth a question at the AGM though as to whether they approached us too....
Dropping like a stone ;-) brilliant
