Yes, you can transfer to your wife with no CGT liability. I have done it many times at ii (we both have accounts there so easy)

£3k CGT free, only have to declare on a tax return if more than this or the sale value exceeded £50k.

I'm not a tax expert but pretty sure that's right. Chatgpt or similar will guide you through it if unsure

My guess/ hope is an acquisition of small producing asset....

My thoughts exactly, if it was a transfer then as per the split shown by Surprised, there would have to be an RNS of the disposal

I'm confused as I thought Allan Gray already held c.5.5% but today's RNS suggests he has just bought c.5% but that is his entire holding.

Is it these are held in separate funds or am I missing something obvious here!

They will only allow long/short mix to go so far in one direction, so if everyone is long they restrict buying and vice versa

Happy to keep adding here at a nice discount the the last JM buy and the placing. The valuation makes little sense given the cash balance, the assets we have and the mgmt team (& esp their vision).

Looking forward to the next deal........

Not sure that is true as I had open positions with both IG and Spreadex and both had moved to 100% funding required due to suspension (Spreadex recently, IG ages ago) which was when the pain would have been felt. Those moves should have prevented forced margin call sales

They said the update on the acquisition will be with the results at the end of Feb so don't think we'll get anything until the 4th

Press indicated 2-3mths to completion at the end of May, which will be up by the end of next week. This is Nigerian time so not expecting any news imminently (but would be nice!) but shouldn't be long to wait now 🤞

The going concern statement is, from memory, similar to previous years. Difference this time is the floating Naira & associated volatility. We need $$$ but can't see banks playing hardball with the court case / compensation outstanding and S S still in the mix
