Seasons greetings etc. Sorry to be late in replying but just got rid of friends and family... I'd be cautious if it dips below 26.3. It has obviously commenced a rise, has tested the trendbreak, and established a channel with 30p at the logical top end during the coming weeks. The thin volumes of the last couple of days make it hard to read but I've a wee warning bell ringing. Dunno if there is an important RNS due or anything but the price movements over the last three days suggest taking care. But then again, it is the festive season so 'they' could be messing with my head.

Welcome to Premium. And congrats for being the first person to comment on this 'un. I take it you are aware of the gap at (from memory) around 1.4 in the charts on this stock, suggesting an unsustainable price movement. As these price gaps tend to be filled without warning on AIM's, a degree of caution is perhaps wise. Just a thought. Never come across EDL before, so I do not know the company.

Despite being at near record highs, Whitbread was flagged as being of interest with a near term target of 19.93. No idea why. Software has picked up something from the recent trade patterns and recons I should pay attention. But as I cannot drink beer (allergy) I intend to ignore it. As for the market itself, software says Tuesday is going to be flat which I suspect may be incorrect. From a chart perspective, I still see 6063 as possible by year end - though stupidly opened a short position on the FTSE today when I thought I saw something develop. As my stoploss was a safe 45 points away from my entry position, I decided to go shopping with my wife and found I'd come within 2 points of being stopped out. That was really bad. Eventually closed the position with an 8 point loss (which is quite unusual for me as when I lay down a set of parameters, I tend not to get it wrong, especially as this is my job!) The lesson is that the market rally does appear to have some strength still. I notice the miners are about to come off the boil, so shall look for an exit point on XTA and RIO tomorrow. That may also be a cooling signal for the FTSE. My postings are going to be somewhat sporadic over the next couple of weeks as it appears I am to be entertaining friends and family during the festive period, so ANYONE ELSE please feel free to clutter up Premium Chat with inane commentary. Or even intelligent commentary. Or anything. I don't care.

I've messed around with log scaling but Bulkowski recommends against such when employing trends and, simply from the point of scaling charts, find it easier to untick that box. What I HAVE found of use is horizontal fibs. If one employs a vertical FIB to measure a movement, then drags that FIB to the point of trend break, in the case of a H&S neckline break, the vertical FIB quickly gives a viable target at the 61.8% level. THEN - and this is the important bit - use a horizontal fib to measure the width of the formation and drag it to the trendbreak point. If it has not reached target within 61.8% of with width of that FIb, bail as the probability has faded.

If one extrapolates a line from the low of Nov 24 and Dec 2, one may find the point at which AFE is going to bounce beyond the 12p I finally sold at the other day. I am now keeping a close eye on AFE again as a certain logic suggests the next target being around 17p. Somehow, I do not think it will take quite as long to reach the target - should the price bounce from the line...

Ouch! I feel really bad reading that. Wouldn't be the first time I'd bailed at the bottom of a movement. Thanks for your nice comments btw.

I know NOTHING about BMR themselves. I trade on chart positions which is often a load of tosh but every now and then, I get it right. A bit like a stopped clock being right twice a day... I bought a couple today on that intraday movement having taken a hard look at the chart and suspect 7.2p is a viable initial target. Not entirely sure how long it's going to take but at this time of year, AIM's often have their own rally independant of the FTSE and it can continue through to March. So, I'm not too concerned. Feel free to post in Premium against any stock you want an idiots opinion on. (except VIY...I cannot fathom that sodding share <grin>) It never does ME any harm to look at some stocks which I'm not watching as I sometimes make a couple of quid from them.

As usual, no idea who this lot are. They were mentioned in the end of day data run and I decided to look at it from a charty perspective. Essentially, it's within a whisker of breaking its three year downtrend and as a result, I would expect the price to spike a tad. If it sees a day low no lower than 27.22, I would anticipate some movement. How much, I dunno! There certainly has been building activity with it. As for the market itself, I predict the FTSE will move tomorrow. No idea what direction tho'. My trading parameters for the first hour are; If 5892 breached, expect 5917 at some point thereafter. If 5874 breached, probability of it being a down day. If both breached in the first hour, I will put fuel in my chainsaw and go into the forest for more firewood. Whilst it is apparently 'green' to have a woodburning stove, it continues to horrify me quite how much wood it burns. This afternoon, I carried 12 fallen treetrunks and tossed them over the cliff into my garden. A month or so ago, I'd have been thinking that quantity would do me for the winter. Frankly, I doubt it will last 'till Xmas.

My charts showed something happening with this share, so I bought in this morning. Not the busiest discussion forum, is it?

I assume there was some sort of RNS to cause this. The price has been moved quite badly down though it will almost certainly recover to at least 6.75 (from a chart perspective).

I rather think that 0.07 of a pence could be crucial. <grin> Why do I suspect we're starting to reach identical conclusions from different directions. The mid-price thing has been critical in identifying trends and breakpoints accurately. Too often I have commented that if the price exceeds 'x', then 'y' will happen but of course have been dissapointed on the day and with analysis, I find the average close failed to exceed 'x'. Currently working on that in my software, allowing me to emplace break points and be given alerts when the av-close is within 5 % of the break for AIMS and 2% for FTSE AS. Which is why I'm writing this at this time of night as I'm taking a break... One of the guys who tracks VIY trades has commented that shares are being bought up and there is a lack of sellers - probably 'cos most folk think it cannot go lower. There is a gap remaining at 2.5p which might still cause an intraday spike.

Tea Leaves are rarely wrong. <except when they are really wrong> Now, the real danger is 6.25 which 'may' happen and 'may' occur as one of these unfathomable intraday spikes.

Moosh mentioned this lot recently and I notice it was also included in my trendbreakers list tonight at the close. From glancing at its chart, if any trades go through ABOVE 12.57, there is a pretty good chance of it having a sharp rise. 19.81 would be the ideal target to my eye. As it's the festive season, I should mention my favored turkey, VIY. Trades above 3.8p will signal breakout.

Trades below 6.37 in coming days would alarm me - A LOT - but otherwise, from a trending perspective it's looking pretty good to continue its rise. I would suggest looking at a 3 month chart and stick on a 30 day moving average (MA30) If the price dips below that line intraday at any point, I personally would bail. BM is taking some time away from LSE to explore real life (probably playing in the snow)

Won't do any harm if we chat in regular. Due to its chart position, quite happy with this one.

Wish I could edit these posts. Logical target is around 580 on CDI - worth a short once the rise is completed I think.

Moosh. Worth looking at our old favourite, CDI from a Gap and Gap Close viewpoint. Fascinating chart - it's about to go up and then, it's going down...
