If they go bust, so be it.

On the 1st of June when Ted Baker was trading at £1.35 per share, I warn that the shares are too high because of the 75 pence placing. The company is at dire straits BEFORE COVID-19 and reported bad numbers.
The best thing they did was to do a sale and leaseback to raise cash and to reduce rent.
That is positive for their cash flow.

The problem is how much has COVID19 affected their business. That's the great unknown. And more importantly, can Ted Baker survive as an independent entity.

With most people buying clothes at the lower end of the price range, I feel Ted Baker will lose more of its customer base.
I would speculate at a VERY LOW VALUATION (i.e. £5m market cap or below) and my holding period be no more than a month.

I wouldn't invest in BOOHOO at this level because they will make lower profits in the future if any at all.
Purely looking for BOOHOO's cost of sales. Last year, they are £570m on £1.23bn of sales, giving them £666m gross profit.
If you readjust the staff wages on manufacturing these clothing items, then the conservative estimate is to see it rise by £100m - £150m, leaving £500m in gross profit. Remember, BOOHOO's operating profit is £91m. The company will be making a loss!

They would need to cut costs and raise prices (reducing number of items sold).

My opinion
BOOHOO should have been smarter. I know people will say Primark runs sweatshops in Bangladesh and India while paying low wages. BUT, to do it in your background in the United Kingdom. Come on, it's inexcusable.
And, especially during the period of cancel culture, BOOHOO is stepping on dangerous grounds.
Also, I wonder if the founders knew this sort of practice was going on and cashed in their shares (just in case) last year.

How do you know what I bought or sold?

I'm just saying Ted Baker is highly-valued and given they raise cash at more than 50% discount to reduce debt. Given this year is a disaster, I expect huge cash losses this year. Another fundraiser is needed.

If their underlying profits are £9.8m down from £63m pre-COVID, I would be afraid of what it would be like after-COVID. At the current share price, along with potential cash losses in the future, the shares are too high.

Plus, it is telling that the placing is at 75 pence.

I wouldn't touch Ted Baker until it falls to 20 pence per share. I expect more inventories writedowns.

I agree that Dignity will unlikely see £20 again (at least for the next five years). But given where their share price is now, it needs to rise by £17.50 or 775%. I bet any investor would take this gain in a heartbeat.

I understand Dignity has lots of fixed costs. Plus, they will probably need to compensate some of their pre-planned funerals arrangements, if they can't promise what they will deliver.
My problem is why are these hedge funds, knowing that Dignity is in a dire situation would invest in this company. I know they own most of their funeral homes outright. As for the debt, the future interest expense will be lower than in the previous years. Also, they will be covering 20% on some of their staff wages, whilst the government help chipped in the rest by the end of April. They will probably dispose of some of their funeral homes to bring in cash.

Do people know why hedge funds are investing in Dignity, if the company's outlook is poor?

If Dignity is warning the business will be crap, why are there so many hedge funds investing in the company?
I feel something isn't right or the shares are dirt cheap. The shares are the lowest since 2004.

This virus is going to stay in Europe much longer because Europeans aren't like their Asian counterpart. People aren't even wearing masks on the streets, like in South Korea, HK, and Taiwan.

People should buy when there is a vaccine, don't buy now. This is worse than the financial crisis in 2008 when businesses are still open (albeit fewer customers). Now, there are literally no customers!
If I were Dart I would buy fuel when the oil price touches $10. Cut costs as humanely as possible.
Dart Group did trade around 20 pence per share during the financial crisis!

j1osf, you shouldn't invest in the stock market when you are posting things like this. Stay away! Put your surplus cash into an ISAs or something you are an expert in.

Dignity mentions they will lose profitability if total UK deaths in 2019 come to 588k. Crunching the numbers from gov.co.uk, there are 605k deaths in 2019 from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. I don't know if this exceeds the company's expectations or in-line with projections.

Looking at the five-year chart, OPTI next target to the upside will be 84p, 90p, 96p, 100p and then the 2018's peak of £1.25.
I'm not a technical investor or believe OPTI's share price follows a technical analysis pattern, due to it being a start-up. The fundamentals and prospects of this business are the driving force on its valuation. Let see what happens.

Dude, I meant supermarket shares like Tesco and other food-related businesses, NOT OPTI. Fewer cravings = fewer food sales.

Also, if Slimbiome works and a large majority of people are buying the products, I would advise my fellow shareholders to sell or don't buy shares in food businesses and the supermarkets.

Also, people will start to cut down on excessive purchases when they go to the supermarket. Currently, the UK throw away 30% of fresh produces they buy but didn't eat.
