HI Task well done......... yes DAX a bit unpredictable as per usual .. I am doing ok but very slow, just trading one pair at the moment AUD USD which i am really trying to get to know. I am trying to analyse the pants out of it!! then i will do the same with other pairs etc ( AUD USD moves very slowly so can take my time) It doesn't do much in the mornings it tends to move on the New York opening and the Asian session. spotted three nice bull flags off the hourly and a 50 fib retracement short so far. Willl wait now till after the CPI news / USD at 1.30 today as that will rock the market, Just looking at my ISAT shares happily pushing up still Gl all

Hi Task ive gone back to the hourly chart at least i can see my flags on that one! Ive picked up a few more points.. PS pivot point doesnt work on IG its just all bunged up together !! Dax it still looks like its going towards the 12925.... 13000 to me... but.... GS Cine divi fiasco shameful in my view i hope the ombudsman gets back to you soon.!! . Also i see that llyods are into a 10% share buy back ......... that should slow the SP price down for good while, grunt groan

Hi Task been trading the 5 min on various pairs but too many false positives and false negatives and like you said before........ wick fodder. Ive come out a few pips up I have got cabin fever now and need to get out the house. I ll continue to review different strategies and time frames etc the off shot so far is very small gains but no losses. I might have to go back to back testing which i hate doing, the new margins are really focusing my weary brain to do better. ( much better) !! Ill take a look at DAX later.......... on better news my ISAT shares are up another 60 odd pence today on the takeover bid frenzy.. Ill hang on for a while and hope it continues

Hi Task nice sneaky short there but yes the Dax is a bit difficult to trade at the moment I think it might push back up to the 13000 ish before going south again but ???. New system ok ish. was up last week ...... i am trying out shorter time frames I am going to do the 15 today. my part reason is the margins on S/B are about to increase phenomenally and i am unhappy about that, plus the automatic 50% margin close out.. Its a pain in the backside so just trying to plan ahead . you have probably noticed that indices are going up from 0.5% to 5% so on my reckoning a �1 a point goes up from �64 to �640 ramp that up to �10 a point and you will need �6400 margin to trade the Dax at a � tenner a point . What do you make of it all Task ?

Got a 56 p per share (13.48 %) tick up on ISAT Immarsat today on Takeover bid frenzy . I hope it keeps going next week �10 a share would be nice

Your DAX........... Task probably best you stay out and recuperate the brain and nerves for your next foray into the markets. The problem with weekly and daily patterns is you need exceptionally deep pockets to trade them, as effectively your in a swing trade.. Task not so sure the Dax is in a long term down trend i would say along term uptrend. Its best traded on the intrarday but you already know that. Phone charts nothing exciting, I am not away but still suffering a bit with the old back problems so not sitting at the machine..... too many years on the tools!!

Hi Task looks like it got down to 12670 before it bounced again . Are you still in or out ? Could have further to go tomorrow. I am on my phone and can't analyse it properly... Will take a look tomorrow morning. New system doing ok on slow moving currencies. I am just doing aud usd . It's working. I am trying to get 5 ....10 or 15 pips on the 5:min using 5 pip S/l . In a winning trade when I get to ten pips and it pulls back to 5 pips I add a position and close them both out at say 12 or 15 pips. Giving me 25 pips It needs lots of tweaking but the small stops saves you from powerful opposite moves..If it starts moving faster I raise my stops to 7or 9 and try to go for 20 or 30 pips. . It's early days but looks hopefull

As you must have nerves of steal !! ..taking another trade off restance could get you out of jail and passed go You are right about the weekly head and shoulder that is there . I also thought I saw a daily inverse H&S as well on Monday .... Can't be sure though as I was playing roulette with one hand and a game of poker with the other and on a call on loud speaker placing a treble on the horses...... .Dam cheek GS calling us gamblers...Sorry got to go have to go and play a fixed odd betting machine.... Hi Guys not much happening on the FTSE today............... Task made 9 pips on my new 5 min 5 pip S/L strategy so hopefull........... I guess you are still stuck in the DAX . Its s difficult one to figure on the short term but you have got some downward convergence. On the long term its in a down trend ... Good luck all

This conversation is getting out of hand. Lol My friend is stable happly married and has a full time job and bets the same on football as we do on the markets. It's the excitement of making gains that keep us doing it.... And for my self as a long-term investors I am well up over time . I have never made huge mega gains but plenty of small ones which usually get reinvested back in the market . I have taken gains out as well and spent them. Gs Trading F/X disagree re gambling!!!!. We use complex technical analysis to try to predict future movements in exchange rates, commodities and indices. The fact that we get it wrong some times also means that somebody else is getting it right . Then other times visea versa. Anyway what time does the casino open see you later?.... good luck all posters next week on the markets

Hi Task he is a Rep and I don't see him that often so who really ever knows. People always talk about their good fortune and rarely about their bad. .. A wise man once told me what people tell you about money and sex, you should take with a pinch of salt. Siatica the horrible toothache pain down the leg. Just looked at your a Dax short again.. If my analysis paralysis isn't at work here. I seem to recall that as you didn't get a higher high on the hourly on the day that's a potentially bearish sign . Ok also I have a bad back right now so can't move about much....last night i went to bed with two ibuprofen and a bottle of red wine... work up still with a bad back and a hang over. I'll try the same tonight but with 3 ibuprofen and malt whiskey!

He is a sensible man and he keeps a journal of his bets and he ends up in profit most years he told me . When he gets a big win he pays a lump if his mortgage...Not the usual type of gambler you normally associate with betting.....I think he specialises in clubs and players he follows... It's another way!! I guess if you can master money management and know what you are doing and of course you need some luck... I think the attraction is very small losses. Our trades go in total both ways which is disastrous when it goes the wrong way.....He just losses a £ 5.but I know it's not that simple in reallity PHTM ...IC have it now on hold but probably worth to keep watching.... Saw a colleague yesterday. .He thinks what we do is stupid.... he bets on football .... he cashed out £478 on a £5 bet . Then the other day at half time he bet £5 at 250 -- 1 that some one would get a goal with a header and some one else would shoot from outside the box.......Both came off and he walked away with £1250. He studies football like mad and does quit well. I suppose the big difference is he has very small losses compared to us guys....
