High guys, thanks HOT my first ever spread bet and came out with a profit. I also sold my PMG last thing, I bought at 218 sold at 226 so on the whole a profitable day. Yes in agreement with GS, the big supermarkets will be around for a while yet. Even tescoe made £2.6 billion ( or something like that ) still a massive amount of money. Whats all this terror alerts about? The market wont like it. the market hates stuff like that. might be good to take a spot bet on gold?

Hello Hot nothing to forgive only praise from me. Reason for the US500 is it hit an all time high the other day at 2000. Its never been above 2000 and was looking overbought. Also the current lack of trading due to holiday period and the negative world news looked to me like it could come down. The £20 a point wasn’t my doing it would only allow that as minimum. (I didn’t realise that 20 meant £20 a point. I thought £20 was my exposure. I have so much to learn on this spread betting acc I also dint know that I could change it or add a limit after the ticket was populated Thank you so much for your helpful advice and your thoughts and you knowledge. I am thinking it all through right now. I will update you later, many thanks again for taking the time respond in such a helpful manner and to help a spread better rookie feel his way through the platform . Your a good un thats for sure!!

Hi Hot spread betting, Hmm not really sure. I have a SEP 14 short on the US500 bought at 1997 with a stop of 2020. The margin is £120 and it’s at £20 a point. I did it last night and it immediately showed a loss of £25? but now today its showing a loss of £105 and the market isn’t even open yet? What are your thoughts and why does it change even when the market is closed? Also how do I put a limit on to buy back when and if it goes further down, e.g? When and it’s in profit? All advice gratefully accepted!

Tesco blimey, thast bad news. I am stuck in SBRY and the SP on that is always down. I hope they can maintain the Divi on it. Its the only reason for hanging on to it.

Hello everybody some good post last week. Hi hot sounds like you were going cave crazy last week , stay calm and try and get out of the cave a bit more often and get some fresh air. Failing that, try counting from a hundred backwards, it helps to calm the nerves. Although I have been away house sitting and sadly with no internet access, I have been with you all in thought. I should put up some sporadic posts next week but the following week should be back to near normal. I am mainly holding cash but will be back with a vengeance soon. I am live on IG and have just funded account, I may put a small short on the S&P500 its looking ready Catch you all soon

I am staying in a lovely bungalow in North Derbyshire for the week..Great views but a little isolated. Nice change though. I wonder what Monday will bring with all the troubles going on. Hi Hot thanks TW is being good to me particularly on Mondays. I think BRIT got down to 235 today did you buy any more? Tesco along with all the other supermarkets can’t make their mind up which way to go but they spend most of their time going down than up. Glad your DOW and DAX doing well. I agree with your gold position trade it short down to 1285 with a stop at 1350 . ( in my view) I have signed up for full IG account now but haven’t funded it yet. Good luck

Good timing as well the, webinar is on the 13th of August at 10.45 with results, so should here about the divi, (Set your stops though it could tumble on poor results) Some nice trades on Aviva and QPP for your self Have you bought the gold through an EFT? Also have you tried buying and selling gold on the sprint markets set yourself 11 trades at £10 a piece run them every five minutes consecutively all long on the 6th trade go short to hedge, the remaining 5 trades go long . That will give you an adrenalin rush for sure!!! Good to see you back

GS already in Talk talk it’s been good to me, great cap gain and good divi Woodford::: I dumped GSK on the constant falls but had really good profit out of it in the past. I hope he can work his magic on it though, for partner’s sipp. RMG Te he he is having a laugh isn’t he. I think RMG has hit fair value Standard life, I agree will bounce up.
