Hi Touk,
Let's play that game then as daft as it is. Do I need qualifications to form an opinion? I can read. I can listen to better qualified people and their opinion is that it works. This is not as complicated a thing as you seem to think Touk. Either the peptide cleaves when it hits the FAP or it does not. It's binary. If it did not you would not have had the results we've seen; verifiable scientific results Touk, of a median of 100 times the amount of dox in the tumour as opposed to the blood plasma than is normal. How do you think it got there by some massive happenstance ? I know critical thinking and logic are not prerequisites for posting on this board but some you have minds like concrete. There is a process to follow for the FDA. They are a disinterested third party. They simply say here is our process, you follow it, and we'll assess the data on safety and efficacy if we're happy with that we'll sign it off. The process is years' long. It involves several stages of trials and AVA6000 is at stage 1b. Of course they're not going to be convinced that it works yet, they follow a process. But they are paying attention and they are talking to Avacta. They don't say, " Well, this looks super interesting don't bother with the rest of trials."
Do you care to tell the board how you know BP aren't convinced? They're waiting for the results Touk. If you're going to spend a few hundred million dollars or more do you think they'll want as much evidence as possible? They will demonstrate an abundance of caution because prematurely jumping the gun has been costly for BP in the past. Not something any exec wants on their CV, so what's the hurry? Doesn't mean they're not sold on it. How many biotech deals get done at P1a? This deal is going to be big. It's worth billions in my opinion based on previous technology deals that have been done that is frankly not as good as this. Also Touk, you have to consider the disruptive nature of this technology. Many of the multi billion dollar deals previously done are going make someone look a bit foolish if they then have to be dropped because this one knocks them out of the park.
Roughly 60% of the company is owned by RIs. That means 40% isn't.
BP not making a bid does not equal BP aren't convinced enough yet. If you're a BP exec or CEO what exactly is the hurry?
When the P1b data hits assuming it is favourable, do you think that increases the value or decreases the value. If I'm CC I'm not selling now anyway because I know I create more shareholder value the longer I wait for the data to roll in.
We're here expressing opinions and not much more, sharing them and some data when it's available and highlighting what we think is relevant. You have an opinion and I really don't have a problem with the naysayers, the negative thinkers, the glass is half empty merchants, each to their own.
