Lowest price isn't always the best. You don't go to Poundland expecting to get the quality of product and quality of service you get at John Lewis.

All averages itself out at these levels and then sit back and wait for the next approach or big news.

It's silly priced at just over 1/5th of recent takeover approaches and each of the 3 main strands of the business are worth far more than the market cap for the entirety of the company presently.

The market seems to view it positively.

US markets have finished strongly today for big 1 day gains and the pound has been strengthening against both the Dollar and Euro.

Things seem to be getting back to normal after the volatility of last week.

Should hopefully gap up on open tomorrow.

Only in the last week or so you had elements of the press publishing articles inferring that the £ was heading for parity against the dollar, and collapsing share prices.

Take out the political bipolar views on the removal of the higher rate of tax measure, now reverses and you are actually left with a series of mini budget measures there to let people keep more of what they earn and to stimulate growth in the economy.

Now today articles being published stating that they believe the £ may be heading upwards to £ = $1.25

What you can't do is make this up.

So who's been loading up on the likes of LGEN and Aviva and other nice and relatively safe dividend payers?

The reasonings for the mini budget and the energy support package were sound in that it is about tackling 3 things. Inflation, Cost of Living Crisis and instilling growth to stave off recession. Unfortunately the higher rate tax cut overshadowed things and put them on a collision course with the opposing political view and media. Reversal would be the right thing to do and then let the stimulus measures take their course.

To sit back and do nothing was not an option.

Pound seems to be reacting very favourable and building on last week where it was already higher than pre the mini budget.
