Quarter point cut. Should be another one to follow in the coming months.

Good for the housebuilding industry

I think the main question now will be whether or not to bank the money or to reinvest the none too shabby dividend.

I'm inclining towards the latter but will decide nearer the time.

How can the Board of Directors of Remainco / THG whilst supposedly meant to be acting with fiduciary duty and in the best interests of ALL THG shareholders.

1. Have let the profitable parts of the Eclectic Hotel Group purchase pass to THG Ingenuity, and whilst lumbering the very company they are still employed by with £15M of write-offs regarding the one clearly unprofitable part of that entity that didn't pass to Ingenuity. or

2. How can the same said Directors of Remainco, also lumber THG Remainco with what looks like the full losses of the onerous Williams F1 deal when it was clearly set up for not only the benefit of THG Nutrition (and Eco) but also for the benefit of THG Ingenuity, and with the benefits for both and badging and markings for both on the car and driver apparel and it clearly mentioned in the THG news release at the time.

Then don't get me started on the valuation that was attributed to a debt free and fully funded Ingenuity without their share of those losses and then £57.5M of Beauty product write-offs that have just materialised from nowhere.

It perhaps explains why trading levels are so thin and nobody is touching.

If I was a betting man and given the drop in the share price I'd bet on a challenge, legal or AGM wise, coming forward from MA.

Okehurst1 I know you have voiced your thoughts that MM and MA might be looking at a carve out, but another question for you.

Given MA isn't averse to legal action and challenge to look after his or Frasers Group's interests (research the many) what's your thoughts on him embarking on the legal route against THG a) due to the now recently disclosed £79,500,000 of Exceptionals, write-offs and onerous contract or b) because he might not perhaps have been canvassed on the recent Selkirk bid?

Nice of the MM's to have made it ex-dividend this morning?

Terrific topping up opportunity around 90p this morning and anything under imvho.

Decent set of results and one of the picks amongst the retailer sector.

I don't short but given any peace dividend is now stalled again todays fall is hardly surprising, as the underlying business is in a chokehold, right, left and centre. No Vat Refunds, Court cases wtc...

Maybe China or Turkey will be the ones to throw their hats back in the ring to keep up any momentum towards a peace deal.

Given Shell's reported interest over the BH weekend that this actually finished down.

Been absent on here for virtually a week and tbh I really haven't missed it and will only pop in very infrequently. Have to say that this post is kind of aligned with the sentiments of ProxLDM and Starfighter.

Nobody needs to deramp this share lets be clear on that, for the last set of results deramp it enough all by themselves and for once thanks to journalism and the Financial Times for highlighting all the 3 impairments / losses / write-offs or onerous contracts that were hidden in the small print of the last update.

So there also appears to be a £20 Million increase in rent for Remainco and then,

~ All the profitable parts of the Eclectic Hotel Group purchase, after refurbs, have been transferred to THG Ingenuity whilst the £15M loss on the Great John Street Hotel has been lumped on Remainco, not Ingenuity.

~ The a £57.5Million impairment on Beauty products written off. That's a lot of money.

~ And then another that is hard to swallow. £7M all seemingly fully written off to Remainco on an "onerous contract" with the Williams F1 Team. I did point it out at demerger time to watch this. Why? Because that deal wasn't just for the benefit of THG Nutrition - but also for the benefit of THG Ingenuity (and THG Eco). Read what was written at the time. Ironically the 2 drivers this year are doing really well and scoring points routinely.

So by my maths that is £79.5M of further wasted funds. Does this also not actually amount to more than the supposed £77M or supposed Free Cash Flow that a cash generative Remainco was meant to generate to potentially pay dividends or for buybacks? Who makes these decisions, and who rubber stamps them?

If you've got time find and listen back to the Webcast that accompanied the Q3 2024 Trading Statement and Ingenuity Demerger RNS. That's what got many exited to subscribe into the demerger placing and to decide which way to split their holdings. Dilution given back, Refinancing low on the priority list and plenty Q's on the leases.

Well after the State Departments comments last night it looks like that's Trump and America now stepping back. They gave a deadline of the end of the week after mounting Russian conditions for a ceasefire. Instead they have given $50M worth of weapons to Ukraine coincidental with the Mineral Rights deal.

"The State Department has now signalled that America will step back from its efforts to settle the conflict. “We are not going to fly around the world at the drop of a hat to mediate meetings: that it is now between the two parties,” said an official spokesman on Friday. “It’s going to be up to them.”

Unfortunately somebody always gets caught in these shares having paid top dollar on these.

Great news the Mineral Rights deal but it's Ukraine giving again after offering up an full unconditional ceasefire and the Russians have given absolutely nothing into the mix in return.

The benefots of a Mineral Rights deal are years away and its debatable really if it will actually be of any benefit to FXPO.

If you learn anything on these shares its take good profits when they are there.

Next move Trump and Russia imvho

On reflection it's been a good earner with dividend off the Trump Liberation Day blip.

I'd rather buy it again knowing that there was a full peace deal on the table.

For the reality, thanks to the largest shareholder being an oligarch and wanted by Ukraine, is that his 49.5% stake is being targeted by the Ukranian Government is leaving not much of a going concern business presently. Constant threat of privatisation of the main mine Poltava and licences, Vat refunds withheld, production now down to only 1 of 4 lines, threat of staff lay-offs and Circa 10 seperate court actions pending is a hard environment to be trying to make money in...

Just tread extremely carefully as the MM's can FXPO in a flash imvho

Banked the remainder for now as it's only a mineral rights deal and I just think Trump will double deal himself a favourable angle with the Russians also.

Hopefully a bit more in it for others though.

Dark_Knight2020 you're not wrong in what you say but maybe you just need to go with the sentiment and bank the profits on the up. It's completely overpriced with no VAT refunds, threat of nationalisation, reduced production to only 1 of 4 production lines, and 10 court cases instigated against it but the hope is that with an ultimate peace deal all the headwinds evaporate.
