Vander, I don't know why you keep thinking you will get an update before the contract starts. RNS 26 Jun last makes it clear, you'll hear about it when it goes live. You'll be in or you'll be out. The question is, will you miss an open goal?

But now they are saying in the new Iranian year, it is any time AFTER 21 March. So that could be a few weeks away, or months away yet, it creates a new 12 month window.

But what isn't clear in that article Mike is whether it means end of our 2019 or the Iranian year. I think that is an older article referring to the Iranian Year end (as I have seen others stating that). But now they are saying in the new Iranian year. After several rescheduling, the government announced last year that Salam terminal will be launched in June 2018. Yet, when Abbas Akhondi, Iran’s Transportation Minister visited the project on June 2, he only spoke of “summer of this year” as the new inauguration date."

Mike, I suspect there is something in your comment re insurances. The SPV probably doesn't need to be up and running to get political risk insurance, but it probably makes it a lot cheaper. Until the SPV is up and running there is always a greater risk that the Iranians could pull out of the JCPOA imo.

Earthling, maybe I erred by assuming the ban on flights to Hugarda was still in place, but it most certainly is for Sharm.

Vander, as you are happy to be corrected by those with more knowledge, please let me correct you.

You are right in that the Restrata contract for Egypt was much shorter, only 6 months. But have you noticed anything about Egypt? The problem with a short term training contract is that for the first couple of months, maybe only weeks, everything is fine, then slowly standards drop. Staff leave, get replaced with staff that weren't on the training course etc. New threats arise after the training has finished so don't get addressed. Staff forget what they were told, become complacent etc. As a result standards fall.

When we took on SL, we took over 120+ security operatives. That was for an airport with PAX numbers of around 100k.. IKA in 2017 was just under 9m, so around 4.5m departing. That is significantly higher, therefore there will be significantly more staff (thousands) to train, retrain and retrain yet again.

You are also correct that it is not just training that we will provide, we will also perform the compliance monitoring and reporting too. But we are not employing an army of thousands of security staff to pat passengers down and stare at screens. Fact.

I also still do not understand why you feel that we need to be involved in the ORAT trials. We aren't providing the security staff, so I'm not sure what role you would expect us to play? can you please elaborate on what exactly you think we would be doing given that we will not employ the security staff?

Out of interest Vander, why do you think it would be so difficult to cope with the increased numbers? I could understand you querying whether suddenly landing 3 or 4 different airport contracts very close to each other might be a challenge to manage, but a single airport where we are not even providing the security staff puzzles me as to why you would think that would be so difficult.
