If that is the case then the share price becomes a bit of a moot point for me, I've been really lucky with the AA, Royal Mail, Rolls Royce, Airtel Africa and now Card, if I'm gonna get a regular dividend of 5-6p on each share I own that's a decent passive income why bother trading! .......

I had a bit of a penny-drop moment over the Xmas period, all the shops I visited/looked in on had a significant number of mature customers, my Mum told me she visits every time she goes to town as did a number of folk I spoke to at her sheltered flats, Card is not dependent on the online stuff imo, the 'grey pound' is core to the revenue stream and they've got the time and desire to visit the shops looking for a bargain rather than going online..... (apologies for the waffling).......3.6p dividend would be lovely and makes complete sense following your explanation.....GLA

The price would be rising if the shorts were getting rid of the last few shares, they have to buy back to close their position.

UBS are probably the worst broker to present as well informed with regard to their recent appraisal of CARD prior to the H/Y results, which was the catalyst for the 'overdone' jump to 140plus and the even more 'overdone' reverse to 80p .......

WorldQuaint reduced again on 31/12, down to 0.59 just above threshold for disclosure. How have both of the recent shorters been able to reduce with little to no impact on the SP? Disappointing. However it does show the positive direction of travel.

Happy New Year everyone (even Polishcap), was pleased to the Card shop in the town where I lived shut yesterday, the town was dead and it would have been unnecessary expenditure for little return, didn't stop a number of other shops opening, even Wetherspoons was quiet.....hoping for a positive update on the 14th, as we have heard nothing to suggest otherwise....GLA

I passed 2 stores in N'pton today, both heaving, mainly with OAP's. I hadn't considered how much of a staple that demographic of customer is to Card, a definite advantage they have over their online competitors. Pleased to see MW reduce, not sure how they managed to conjure that without the price jumping yesterday....the scoundrels! ....GLA

GH, Is it your reading that the Garven acquistition and the wholesale distribution deal are two separate entities? The recent RNS was a little bit ambiguous, kind regards, GLA

I'm really surprised after yesterday's climb that it didn't involve any short reductions, and I can't see there being any action from today given the steady price but guess we'll find out tomorrow.....GLA

WorldQuant increased by 0.1 not 0.8, 0.8 is there total exposure.

Negligible amount that was probably designed to control/reverse the price movements.......unlucky

Someone made a good point on another board about the emphasis that was placed on new Xmas stock, which given the fact it is new, can be priced accordingly without shocking customers by raising existing prices.

While the PBT split for '24 was 37% in the first half to 63% in the second half, in '23 it was a 27% to 73% split in favour of the the second half of the year. GLA
