Tom, that sounds like an excellent, sensible idea. ITV need to get in with someone who has connections in the right places as you say. Now that'd be quite normal in the real world of things whatever the business might be. To ITV however it's a million miles from their normal strategy of sleeping on the job, feeding off the shareholders unfortunately.

Be interesting to see where the SP would be if the FTSE was at an all time low. They'd still be praising McCall. I'd guess they'll be announcing her successor in the not to distant future. No doubt another loser with a poor track record. Lineker anybody ?

The only thing that will cause any significant upward movement is another 'plant' by her and the board that some mystery buyer is sniffing around. Jesus !

Just out of boredom, I read that Lineker is having problems finding celebrity contestants for his new game show on ITV. Based on the fact that most of the celebrities have the morals of a sewer rat where money is concerned, I'm certain he'll find one or two. Ex MOTD pundits for starters.

I'd agree with you but there's nowt to talk about. The boss is on holiday for 11 months and 3 weeks of the year. The board are asleep. The business is 40 years behind the times. Oh, there's been talk of a bid for as long as I can remember but that's about it I'm afraid.

I can only assume you McCall admirers are comfortable to see the SP die a slow death. Do you honestly believe she'd still be here if she was paid performance related ? She'd have done a runner a long time ago. Bonus schemes, share bonusses, free money, unaccountability etc. The only sufferers are us. ITV deserves much better than this.

I really struggle to accept that you can refer to Tom as an idiot when he's been correct virtually 100% of the time in his assessment of ITV. I've been listening to the 'next stop is a quid' brigade for what seems like an eternity. The business itself seems sound. Its the dumb dame and her team of coffin dodgers that's holding it back. They've milked the business for far too long and they're despised inside and out.

Point taken jed. I'll button it. Can't help the disappointment of seeing the SP collapse from about 1.50 to where it is now since she's been in charge. And she's been well rewarded for doing so. Anywhere else and you'd have been toast.

Jed, I'm trying to be nice. Anything McCall has done a deranged orangutan could have done. Even my mate Tom has a better idea of the changes required that would have propelled ITV to loftier heights. She's a dud, devoid of idea's, enterprise, morals. The list goes on and the guys in the city know it. All she's achieved is wealth, her own. I wouldn't let her near my local Wetherspoons to serve pie and chips.

Jed, its not de-ramping, its fact. We've had our day in the sun and just like always we're back at the swamp. McCall has disappeared for another 12 months and millions richer while the good old ITV loyalists get mugged.
