TMS, I was referring to high absenteeism due to sick leave which I believe is now back to the normal (pre-pandemic) levels of below 5%.
My Marxist narrative is that unfilled vacancies need to be filled but you would have to ask why they aren't being filled? Is it because current terms and conditions mean that it is just as lucrative to work in a supermarket, fast food outlet or office where you aren't required to go out in all weathers and can work in a warm, dry environment? Is it because the vacancies aren't being advertised as a cost saving exercise? I guess that we will never know but whatever the reason it's clearly something that needs sorting out. One thing that is for sure is that Gen Z don't appear to see it as a career path.
Thursday's half yearly results and statement will be interesting. I'm still expecting RM quality of service to be below specification over the last six months and this time "strike action and high absenteeism" cannot be used so it will be interesting to see what excuses are rolled out this time.
TMS, "I haven’t been bullish on the business fundamentals of Royal Mail for at least 18 months so that’s a lie.".....
yeah, I'm looking back at your posts from eighteen months ago........hang on......no I'm not, because they're not available to view......lololol
TMS, "what happens if there is no Royal Mail tomorrow? Hmmmm".
How about we all become IDS shareholders? I believe that some would prefer that.
"Because anybody with more than 3 brain cells that is thinking from a business point of view would not want any kind of USO in Royal Mail".
Yet despite the fact that you knew all about the UK operation's obligations, you were still happy to invest here and now, two years after AS was telling us that the fundamentals of the business were sound and that the business had loads of liquidity and that the SP was totally undervalued you are advocating that the USO be removed?
TMS, thanks for the clarification. Incidentally the only tears coming from me today were the tears of laughter whilst reading your pathetic posts.....lololol
"I don’t think it’s directly a hindrance to the share price. I think it’s a hinderance to the business. And I want the business to succeed".......Yes, you want the business to succeed because you want the SP to rise and the dividend to be reinstated......we all do.....
TMS, gor the record, I have never said that the USO will be in place for another ten years. You're making things up now.
What I have always said about the six day USO is that it is currently the status quo and will be until changes are made.
TMS, for what it's worth, I think that Wrexham FC will win the Premier League. Now I can't tell you when but it'll definitely happen. Probably not much use to you if you're planning on placing a bet so saying that the USO will, at some juncture and at a point in time hitherto unknown as yet is a totally useless statement for the purposes of this forum.
The reason why those on this forum that want to see changes made to the USO, or even see the USO scrapped is because they see it as a hindrance to the SP and therefore their investment and subsequently their wealth. If the SP weny to 600p tomorrow morning, nobody would be talking about this because they would be too busy cashing in.
TMS, "what the last 3 CEO’s did is irrelevant you melon".
It's funny how it's irrelevant when it suits your narrative?
If Thompson had managed to get changes made to the USO would it still be irrelevant? Thought not.....
Darbo, I'm happy to be a USO ramper and just in case you're not aware it's also the current default position. What are you doing to get the USO changed? Perhaps writing to your MP or Keith Williams?
If you want change then you have to get involved in making change happen.
TMS "I won’t put a timescale on it given that I’m Joe Soap on the street basing my judgments on the publicly available data…..who knows, next month? Next year? 5 years?"......10 years possibly, given that three consecutive CEOs have failed to get the USO changed over the last decade?
So you're just putting absolute garbage out there then without having any idea as to what's going to happen.
To quote AngerSharkz, "you absolute weapon".....lol
TMS, If you say so then it must be the absolute truth.....lol
Out of interest, what number would you put on the USO and when would you envisage it to be changed? You and Maximas keep spouting the same old rhetoric so you must have some ideas?
Maximas, "probably because a deal behind the scenes with regards the USO has been agreed".
Probably being the operative word in that sentence?
I would think that the shower that forms the current UK Government has better things to concentrate on at this moment in time? Sorting out the USO would and should be well down the list in my opinion. Getting interest rates lower and sorting out our shyte show of a Police service should be their priority in the run up to a GE?
Sid, RM did not contest the fine because they know a good thing when they see it.
JB, thanks for posting this but this is the sort of response that RM is expected to trot out when in reality they are almost certainly thinking that they have got away with it lightly.
Maximas, thanks for posting that article because I needed a good laugh. The section on the Elvis impersonator had me in stitches (no reference to Shawn Mendes intended).....
"It was a nightmare from start to finish,’ says Newsome, who also runs Elvis-themed fish and chip van, Cod in a Trap". Absolute classic but please Don't be Krill.....lol
In all honesty, which courier doesn't lose or have delays for some parcels? RM are no exception to this and it will be interesting to see if the QofS figures are released for T24 and T48 items on Thursday.
Newdealz, "you have to be dynamic and have vision and be able to adapt quickly, pretty much the qualities anyone needs to be successful as either a soletrader or Ltd Co. or SME.".....summing up exactly why the UK operation is always behind the curve. You can turn a jet ski 180⁰ in seconds but you can't do that with a super tanker.
Newdealz, it will certainly be interesting going forward. In my opinion, if you are offered a choice of three identical services at different prices, then as Eric would say "who you got?"..... It could be the start of some really competitive pricing and a win/win for the consumer.
