What I have never been able to understand (taken from munins much appreciated monthly posts on Meygen output ) is why don’t the figures add up ? For instance

Jul 24 - 948 MWh if we divide that by 31 days we get 30.5mwh

Divide that by 3 turbines we have 1.5mw turbines producing 10mwh each per day.

That is less than 7 hours a day if at full output.

Are they running at less than half power or are they turned off due to power not being required?

BESS will definitely sort out the latter.

Very rough calculation 🤔

59mw at £172mwh (roughly)= £10.148.00 per hour

18 hours a day ? To allow for slack water =£182.664.00 per day

365 days a year =£66,672,360 per year.

Have I got that right ? Haven’t allowed for the current 6 mw that is operating to allow for breakdowns and servicing.

Guess if those calculations are any where near over 15 years it is quite a considerable sum.

As a LTH quite aware of School of Ai launching in Sept but find it hard to believe ( although it would be much appreciated )that initial contracts will be as you state,

We do have an investor event coming up in a couple of weeks hopefully gain some more knowledge on this.

Just to add JDF7 is an investor (i believe)as he has been posting in here for a few years as such it is quite understandable his concerns about the current SP and indeed the SP decline over the last 2 years.

No problem Karlvonwise and a good time to invest in SAE we are lucky to have quite a few well researched LTHs in here with a vast knowledge of the company who are more than happy to share research albeit with investors rather than day traders.

This BB calculates a buy or a sell on the spread ie a difference in the sell and buy price however it is normally not correct as the spread on some stocks can be high and it is possible to sell for more or buy for less than shown on this BB it also has a 15 min delay. Once you get used to it very easy to work out buys v sales May I suggest you look at google finance it gives you live trades and volume and it is free.

A CFD is a guaranteed payment from the government at an agreed price for 15 years . If the company gets more than the agreed price from off takers they give the gov the difference however in Tidals case the agreement is far higher £261 per mwh so the government will pay SAE the difference

If so it is a bit different as an EIA was require also SG asked for a report on possible peat landslide in Dec 22 they didn’t reply to that till Jan 24 it also concerns solar and wind turbines (albeit a different application)

However I do get your point as we know planning and SAE have a very long history of delays and disappointment although that seems to be getting far better recently 👍

Regarding road access ,light,noise and fencing but they all seem to have been addressed with the relevant authorities raising no concerns.

Just one question is that the amount of power supplied to the grid is it possible that no more was needed and a turbine was turned off during May and June possibly due to warm weather etc ? I know that happens with wind turbines .

Probably worth waiting before contacting the company for the outcome of the Scottish government regarding planning which is due anytime Mr T at the moment Mey Energy storage ltd has no assets although that could change very soon also worth noting that Scottish Enterprise is a Scottish government concern .

I find it hard to believe that SAE would give up 16% in a potentially very profitable business without a financial contribution? What do we owe Scottish Enterprise 😉

With news due on Mey BESS due soon has anyone any idea why Scottish Enterprise has a 16% stake ?

Obviously I understand they have a stake in Meygen but this is a different project has a deal been done ?

With a potential 300mw and 1.2 gw at 4 hour duration it is a very sizeable project .

“The development rights in the project are held by Mey Energy Storage Limited, which is owned 84% by SAE and 16% by Scottish Enterprise.”
