Firstly, France is bankrupt (as are we). Germany funds their health care system differently and has plenty of cash since it manipulated the Euro. Canada, wow. There system is as just as bad as ours and there is a very significant movement there to take it private because it cannot be afforded. Note that I made no mention of whose was cheapest or most cost effective or what can be afforded. I only said that it is a disgrace and needs no more money as we can't afford if. We can't. Facts are facts. We need to turn the telescope around and say 'this is what we will treat'. The rest, well, that is the responsibility of the individual. It is certainly not my responsibility to pay for gastric bands at about 26k (total care costs) because someone has one hole bigger than another. Cause and effect, it ain't rocket science.

Grossly under funded? The NHS uses 34p of every pound the government take. That is a disgrace. 50% of that goes on obesity related illnesses. Name me another insurance policy whereby reckless behaviour doesn't increase your premium or attract a substantial excess? Also find me an insurance policy where you can forever claim and take out but never pay in. And we call it National Insurance. It is a disgrace and will bankrupt us...well it already has. Errr. No, don't see the connection Hbob. The bank balance was well in the black and we had controlled migration, a healthier armed services and plenty of gavvers. Next you'll tell me that the NHS needs protecting and more money should be put into it to keep it afloat.
