GIT. You are funny. You make wild assumption, baseless. Totally baseless. You destroy any credibility with comments such as
'I presume your reference to HR dealing with people actually means Punishing people for having an addiction, really ! If so, I think that says a lot about you.'
You presume wrong, as I have already pointed out. You take your own interpretation of someone's word and rework it to then sell as a statement of fact.
Here you go again..some loosely based assumption that I may have worked in HR. No I haven't. What if I had? Funnily enough I have experience of HR supporting people return to work after serious illness or injury. HR ensuring occupation health needs are met, including working cooperatively with medical professionals. Ensuring legislation surrounding DSE assessments is implemented. Ensuring maternity and paternity legislation is implemented. Working time directives are completed and implemented. Ensuring reasonable adjustments are made for those with physical and/ or mental health concerns thereby allowing them access to all workplaces and maintaining their ability to work or return to work. What about ensuring discrimination is dealt with either by means of education or enforcement? All HR based and all pretty good by me. Thankfully they also ensure the lazy, inefficient, lying, thieving employees are seen out the door in the correct way. Yes, a coin has two sides.
Bigoted, egotistical, self centred, self serving...I have no evidence AT ALL to support that statement against anyone I have ever seen comment on any board let alone this one. I am confident you are the same, primarily because they remain unknown (on the whole). Sadly, as I have already pointed out, you do like to make wild assumptions. I suspect you know little about the majority of the people on this board or others, bar the odd meeting perhaps. You should you careful with language, bigot is a powerful word. Sadly it is often used by bigots to close down those that are not. The word has, to a degree, been misappropriated. Much like the fascists of the future will call themselves the anti facsist (some attribute that wording to Winston Churchill, but it is more likely aphorostic drift)
Bobtree. When you use the word 'their ', to whom do you refer? Are you meaning ALL HR departments and THEIR staff? Such wide brush statements suggest ignorance.
