Biggest laugh of the day - i've been helping George out at his taverna ( we are good friends ) cos his son & daughter are at a wedding - picture the scene from faulty towers now when Basil is explaining the menu to a German tourist - I was asked about the mussels in fishermans stock - the woman said she liked the soup usually but not the inside of the shells !! What slipped out was unintended - it centred around SHELLS - i didn't mention the war & think i got away with it 🤣

OSDame was sitting with a friend of ours with a strange expression slowly shaking her head.

I think i'm in the dog house now for the rest of the day :(

George thought it was funny though when I explained - although he did change my job to collecting money for his sun loungers.

Maybe there are some things i'm just not cut out for.
