Don't worry Colenal it's strictly a fat free day here at SCGL - Tomorrow when your back in the Autumn gloom is the time to start putting on the calories to get through winter - didn't they say end of summer NEWS :)

Expectations have been dampened over the past 2 trading days, however caution is still in place - it's all down to volume now, we should know by 10.00 a.m where this is heading for the day - long term its a definite hold until the release of firm news, then you can all take a rest and watch the line go vertical !!

Colenal - totally agree - I have an enforcer on the books who doesn't allow day time drinks Monday - Thursday which is fine due to the following routine :

Monday - walk to the port - go and collect anything in the lobster pots and do some fishing from the boat - Duration 4 or 5 hours

Tuesday - Usually boat day - yesterday was Kalymnos again to buy an electrical item - Amazon takes 2 weeks here to deliver - duration all day

Wednesday ( today) - helping a couple of friends with any repairs to their boats mechanical or other necessities - duration - until the job is finished or someone mentions Mythos - after effects are an earbashing from Dame until she calms herself with a glass of wine 🤣

Thursday - Check pots & tootle around - sometimes a lucky tourist will be invited - after discussing our time here, they usually ask if they can come on our other boat when we go over to Kalymnos on Fridays to meet up with friends and hit the market there.

Fridays - Group taverna day - everyone brings something to the gathering - whether its a jar of olives or home made feta - or my favourite Orange pie - if you've never had Orange pie then the only description i could give it would be that it was made by the Gods - as long as it's smothered in honey !!

That only leaves Saturday and Sunday - RELAXATION DAYS !! but they do blend into one another and we have got used to this life and the ppl we have met along the way - Kalispera.

Ezhik - I'm not on holiday - i live here 9 months of the year - maybe more next year if I can sell a Lanzarote property - the flights are getting difficult and very expensive.

Phimx - absolutely desperate : ) can't you tell by the tone & don't try and backtrack or disguise the use of wording - just admit the attempt at falsifying someone's genuine post with obscure inaccuracies.

Just purchased a 3 year old seat ibiza ex rental with 78000 kms on the clock for 6800 euros - every panel has a unique identification mark !! It fits in very well in the locality where all other cars are looked after to the same level !!

I would have gladly purchased an EV but haven't seen a charging point in Kefalos - maybe i am not looking out for them ??

But I don't know of anyone who has one here, Kefalos is still in the 19th century - there are even NO taxi's here, which when we first got here found strange, and the amount of comments that tourists make regarding that is a daily thing.

One thing to watch out for if anyone is planning a holiday to Kefalos !! It is a very large bay and sometimes ppl want to get around by taxi. It is not unusual for the taverna owners to offer to pick up guests and return them back to their hotels and apartments or villas. We have often offered ppl a lift back to the other end of the resort or up the hill after they have been told that they will not be able to get a taxi - that is of course dependent on the time of day - there is a no tolerance for driving if you have had anything to drink.

On the positive side the sea is always calm, the food is totally local produce and authentic, the fish is fresh ( sometimes directly off the boat and straight to the plate ! ) and there is a fantastic community that will do anything for each other, something that is lacking in many other parts of the world.

The thing about shark hunting is that they are very good at hunting, highly intelligent, do not tire easily and can be dangerous when you least expect.

I prefer fishing for minnows 😉

I wish i had as good a bait for when I'm fishing my line would be heaving constantly :)

Just a quick humorous recap for the faithful.

Some time ago I told ppl that one of my fisherman friends was going out off Nasyros to try and catch a marlin or two, I was unreliably told that I would be in the wrong part of the world to catch such a fish by one of our prolific poster - PHIMX !! - although that day we were unsuccessful, today we returned with not one but two beauties.

Not only was the Phimx wrong - he was wrong twice !! which in all honesty fits very well with his track record.

I can confirm for you Phimx that whatever information you are looking at - it is inaccurate and misleading - get up to date.

I can also pre-empt the breaking news of a deal - it is currently off the coast of England awaiting signature 🤣
