Jimi: Agree. Matad is not in the position to define or demand deadlines as it is clearly dependent on the license granting authority's ability to move forward. And the license granting authority appears to have the well known luxury of saying "it will happen as soon as it's final" (whenever that may be). I assume there's not much PM can do to accelerate the process.

but don't worry that's PM for ya - never as you expect. Don't let that fool you: Matad is now as before still on the winners track. As other posters have already mentioned: It's a holding operation. Have patience (or sell).

Once again: I believe the EL is coming. When? I don't know - but it will be granted. And once that happens, matad will be playing a completely different ball game - and its SP will reflect that.

Rookie: Unfortunately, the (overall) market doesn't factor in the facts. Too bad. Matd has disappointed so many times in the past I guess there will have to be more than what we have at the time to get things going.
I'm convinced that we'll have more to show soon.

the SP rise of recent days - particularly today - is due to the expectation that the EL will be granted soon (whatever that means). If the grant is not made public "soon" I would need to agree with the poster who voiced his respective concern that the SP gains would probably take a nose dive.
Just to be clear: None of us would like that to happen but until the good news rolls in nothing is certain. HOWEVER: The EL grant is a given - we just don't know when. The longer it takes the more the SP will deteriorate - which may create an additional buy opportunity.

Agree - its seems that buying below 3p (or even 3.05p) is currently not possible; the spread, however, suggests otherwise.

Holding the EL back until the end of 2022 (when the refinerey is scheduled to go online) seems extremely unrealistic - even if the Mongolian Government would rather have its oil for itself.
I believe we will see the EL grant a lot earlier - early 2021.

and I'm hoping it's for all the good reasons we've been discussing.
But let's not forget that during the summer of 2019 (end of June till August) the SP was between 7-9p. And that was BEFORE matad had struck oil. In other words: We're (or rather the SP) still far from what it's worth once the EL is granted for Heron-1 and oil can finally be extracted (not including any additional wells)!

In that case C/S will be on pins 'n needles come next Monday - GL!

Horsers: Guessing is the name of the game at this point. The good news is that the guessing applies to the "when" not the "if" which I personally would consider as a huge advantage in a guessing game. As far as that was your message I would agree. But as you say: The dams will burst once "we get some definitive news on EL".
