Asher and Taylor are the two players in the oil industry who know Namibia best.
They spent the last three years building significant positions in their companies
which in turn have significant premium acreage. PT is convinced Repsol dill not
drill deep enough and that the oil lies deeper down. Looks like they have gotten
Exxon interested enough to fund new 3d.
PAYDAY soon hence small placing to let Asher in.
All My own opinion but if correct will see this lift off before the news of Namibia
deal.

I only know they are PGS (petroleum Geo services) ships.
Best wait for Jimarilo as he is the one who has been tracking
them.

the oil major in question approached both companies
independently at roughly the same time. v small chance
this is a coincidence.
Therefore any farm in by EXXon is likely to involve both
companies,

If I were in his position I would do exactly the same.

People over at the Global Petroleum board are getting excited about a current
PGS seismic survey being conducted on TPR and GRP blocks in Namibia.
It seems pretty clear to me that there is only one possible big player paying
for the data, Exxon. More specifically the survey ship seems to be concentrating
on the western section of the blocks which is where the giant structures are located.

If the arrangement is to shoot new 3d then farmout if the targets are confirmed then
Asher is probably in closed season viz a vi purchasing more stock.
If on the other hand there is a small placement to pay for the Cameroon survey
while we wait for the farm out (after all it is money that will not meed to be spent
and therefore allows TRP to retain a slightly larger share) Asher IS permitted to
participate in the placing.

I imagine Asher armed with all the missing pieces of the jigsaw decided to jump
on the opportunity of his life and doubled up to a 27% share of TRP.

Peter Taylor also has a 22% share in GBP which has the old TRP/Repsol
average.

So in summery JA (TRP) and PT (GBP) both have 20%+ holdings
in companies with very large Namibian positions.

2+2==?

This is going to take off big time when the penny drops re Namibia.
News there seems closer than we think. Farm out agreement with Exxon
IMVHO.

Looks like the major we were talking to in the summer is running a 3d survey over the TRP/GBP
Namibian blocks. Cant get much better than Exxon as a farm in partner.
Perhaps they have agreed to farm in `subject to` 3d confirming the giant prospects TRP/GBP have
identified. Happy days

Agree OB something defiantly storing over in Namibia.
Meantime the buying continues. Been looking at the buys
and sells over the rise and it doesn't add up. The level of net buys
is still up towards the top end of the range over the last 10 days or
so. Looks like this still has legs imo. The consolidation has been
a reasonably orderly on orchestrated by MM in to no news, gradual
fade etc. Lets see!!

OB I think I am on top of where we are at with the ship.
I noticed that the MV Investigator was shadowed all the way
to the site by a search and rescue vessel The Judge (Cameroon reg).
Tonnacombe mentioned about inspecting the old well heads
and I think this is what they have been up to.
If correct we should see the ship leave port soon enough.
I think there is activity in GBP due to ongoing multiparty Seismic
over their blocks. This has also included TRP Wallis basin block.
Question is who is paying. Seems we may have some potential
news to come on Namibia while we await Drilling the Njom3 well.

Do you mean the Rig (COSL Seeker) or the survey ship MV Investigator?
Then MV Investigator returned to port yesterday presumably having completed
an initial survey and now need to pick up more/different kit to Drill and complete
a cone survey at the locations for each of the three feet. Or something along those
lines. Tonnacombe has a much better idea of the procedures so he may have something
to add later.
Regarding the drill rig The COSL Seeker last week we discovered via Wood Mackenzie drill
insight site that the said rig was status 'operational' , the location was Cameroon and the
operator was Tower Resources. I think some of the more sensible posters decided that the rig
was probably in 'stand by' mode ready for the go ahead. Prior to that by selecting COSL seeker
in Marine Traffic search and clicking 'past route' the rigs last position was in the Gulf of Guinea around 800m away fro the drill site. I just checked and it is still there.
Try zooming out and clicking last position for it's location otherwise the system just zooms back to where you last were. If this was Douala Port then it appears the rig is there.
