The chances of some sort of final dividend here are high. More likely to be a scrip dividend with a fractional cash alternative to encourage shareholders to accept shares on this occasion. The reasoning is that this allows the company to retain it’s reit status at the same time as co serving cash.
That said the company has a very strong balance sheet with plenty of cash and could easily afford a proper cash payment of 5 to 5 pence.
RNS on dividend is due any day. 5p declaration should boost this to c120p IMO

Very much on the cards here . 80% rent collection in the first half was offset by the need to support their tenants particularly Pubs which ate into their net rental income. With this additional expenditure not needing to be repeated for the second lockdown I expect they ended up with more in the dividend kitty. The only real question is will they continue to goes cash and pay a scrip dividend in order to maintain reit status or will they reward shareholders with a cash payment?

The shorts were not closed at 42p there is still a 6.5% short position. With regards to HMSO making more money. I would imagine that rent collected compared with 2020 will be the starting place and as a precious poster has alluded to the alternative use strategy should help NAV recover. Cost cutting and an improved property management offering should also help. NAV is currently 82p but don’t forget this is a kitchen sink valuation and I would expect this to be closer to 100p this time next year. A closing of the discount to 30% would then imply a 70p price tag.

The ex dividend date has nothing to do with arranging to accept the scrip dividend. There is still a week or so to go.

Harry yes they will probably have to raise another £300,000 or so which is around an extra 10% but this is so low compared with potential that it is a red herring. When they raise some via a placing to the 3F’s it will be higher than current price IMO.

I would put in a claim against Fidelity on the basis of malpractice and see what they say. I would also mention that the fidelity managed funds which are part of the same company are bound to be accepting the scrip and on this basis their lack of actions to facilitate the same choice for retail investors is discriminatory.

In the case of HMSO it’s more like 7 months warning as they paid 2p scrip v’s 0.2p cash when they did the refinance.

One line you could try is that in these unprecedented times the U.K. property REITS are having to issue scrip dividends to retain their tax free status and that it is financially negligent of them not to allow them. Further to this you can be sure that the fidelity managed money will be receiving the shares and that they are discriminating against the private investor.
My sister is with III and she was unaware of the dividend action needed. My Brother and I are with AJ Bell and we’re advised the same day or following morning.

Adding the Johnson&Johnson one shot vaccineto the mix cements the irreversible nature of the unlocking this time around. The main point with ALL the vaccines is that they stop serious illness, hospitalisation and death 100%. Once this is accepted by the market this will be over 50p.
My 6 month target is still over 70p perhaps even 80p.
It just depends on how much value is added back to what must have been a firesale valuation.
