Madness. Utter madness. If you want to protect the at risk then you want the healthy to achieve herd immunity so that the at risk are not at risk in the herds presence. So lockdown the at risk but let others go about their business and dare I say that is a right that better people than us took harder knocks to ensure during harsher events than what we are going through right now.
Then there is the issue of 1% fatality across all demographics in the aggregate and fatality drops off with age and co-morbidity issues. To the point that talk of keeping schools locked down for the sake of the kids is a transparent farce designed to save the more at risk elderly teacher demographic but will they spin it like that? Nope.
Covid is not flu but the numbers are simply, regardless of peoples sensibilities, a bad flue season statistically speaking and please don't hit me with outlier complications as trends are not beaten by outliers, quite the opposite really unless you can make a trend of the outliers but just as with Northerners that trend is one of environmental co-morbidity combined with legacy/hereditary conditions/ (I'm a smoggy so go figure that a respiratory focused pathogen is causing greater expressions of novel RNA caused disease in the North, yesh.) And not overall pathogen lethality.
Further I am firmly of the opinion that the lockdowns and especially subsequent lockdowns will claim more souls than covid will for the foreseeable future. EG the UN announced 10000 kids a month will die due to economic downturns affecting food distribution in needy nations and that says nothing of what regime collapse in politically unstable nations could yield in terms of deaths nor suicide rates in developed nations due to joblessness or even people denied healthcare due to lockdowns. So in conclusion. I want to make money here, I wish no one ill but god lord the level of disinformation regarding Covid is real.
PS. If it is true that the crowd has the emotional age of a 5 year old than what do you expect groups of people that have been quintessentially grounded for reasons beyond their control; to do other than flaught/ignore/rebel against? Come on people. God help us if this was something like Tuberculosis that claimed the lives of some 1.5 million souls last year and is air born but we did not up end societal norms nor cause a recession for that.
Disclaimer. My family and friends are frustrated with me as back in January, when the Legacy Media told us to not take the Wu Flu seriously cos the Chinse Communist Party said so I was saying brace yourself for lockdown and a possible black death situation. Now I am pretty much the opposite ie do what ever makes you feel comfortable but those willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.
